Anyway, i give up. There is no point in this. Have a nice day.

You believe the ends, and no matter how hypothetical these are, justify the means and any means. We certainly do assess a situation before we decide on the means and sometimes we decide against the means.

This was not some coffee machine that got hacked. Again, pacemakers are life-saving devices. You do not go around and tell people you can kill them by hacking into them. Nor do you publicly claim to have hacked cashing machines. You will only support hacking attempts with such claims and not prevent them. You will in fact cause them.

You could as well claim to have invented digestible razor blades and go nation-wide on television with it. How many kids do you think could feel inspired by this to swallow normal razor blades?

You could just go around and burn houses for not being fire-proof. You tell people life is a cycle of creation and destruction and will find people who will agree with you. Or it might just be a dumb idea and you have not thought it through well enough. X

You do know a Television series depicted the use of hacking pacemakers to kill someone well before this guy came out saying he had figured it out right? Maybe we should hold the entertainment industry responsible for all malicious actions they have inspired lmao!!!

This guy gave no one any ideas and he did not reveal know how. Individuals that can hack new tech for malicious gains are at it before you say go. This guy incited nothing; well hopefully he incited the manufactures to solidify their tech.

This thread is far too serious.

On a less serious note, if no one was seen wearing tennis gear from the 70s or it didnt happen by the sea then you can probably rule out Mossad sharks.

But only probably. Blink

We already tell kids that a film is just a film and is not real. Television shows depict almost anything these days. Every second show contains murder.

This guy claimed outside of television shows that one can attack people with implanted pacemakers and that he has proof. Not only does this scare older people, but it also renders all other hackers as attention seeking idiots who less people will now take serious, because of one guy going to extremes. You want to think about that, too, when you want to say that hackers can do good things for our society. Just stop thinking they are all good guys because they are hackers.

I never said all hackers are good guys. Quite the opposite actually. It is you who brushes with wide and general streaks my fellow out of podder. It must be nice living in a world where everything is so black and white. Send an invite please as it would be much easier living in that world.

My post calling Whitehound out as a troll was removed, by an ISD, because calling him a troll was considered a personal attack. Whitehound is just a troll. Plain and simple. Nothing he argues can be taken seriously. You're just wasting your time responding to him.

Really. No matter how logical your argument, he'll turn what you say on it's head just to get you to reply again and again. It's useless.

Oh yes, you did. You defend the guy and still do. Or is this your way of saying you were wrong? If so then I am not seeing it.

You defend one of the worst kind of hackers, the one who does it out of publicity, and your name calling proves nothing in this matter.

Nonsense, they are not all criminals. A boy who dresses like a pirate is also not automatically a pirate. You only do not tell them. Some just play around with what is theirs and call it hacking like they were criminals. It is however a normal behaviour for kids to take apart their toys and to study them.
Someone who publicly claims to have hacked cash machines is practically making a confession and might only not have been caught or left enough evidence for a conviction. A confession alone does not make a crime, it could be a lie, and if he has not been convicted then he might also not have actually broken into a banks security systems after all. However, If I give the hacker the benefit of the doubt and believe he actually did hack cash machines then it also makes him a criminal.

If all he did was walk to a cash machines, hack in 4 numbers and make it spit out money then I am hacker, too, because I do this all the time.

Wait what? This isn't what you said on post #16.

In what part of the world are hackers still being treated like they were some kind of heros? Shocked This already got boring in the 80s when they made movies like Wargames. I cannot believe hackers are still not being treated like ordinary criminals. Every Greenpeace supporter trespassing private property is.

And to think they let this guy talk openly about hacking medical devices and cash machines. What is missing here are "experts" on knifes and hammers, who talk openly about stabbing a man in his chest and hammering a cash machine open...

This should be treated as aiding and abetting in a crime. Instead, this guy gets to make the news even after his death.

In any case, I'll take the answer as no to the question I asked and just leave it at that. It's all I needed to know.

Yes, they are. Hacking is a criminal offence.

Just because you stole a cup cake out of your mother's oven does not mean you are a thief. It means you did not actually steal anything, but it was placed there for you to take. You may only think you are a thief.

Same with hacking. Just because you reverse engineered a device does not mean you have hacked it. It might just mean you have analysed it or taken it apart without breaking any laws.
