Sounds good to me. Just please take a survey of your subscribers before you commit to anything.

Make absolutely sure they know they won't get SP for that day.

You may also want to do some market seeding on said day.

Someone with a full set of +5 implants trains a higher amount of skill points than someone with no implants. Also would the amount of skill points be based on a rank 1 skill or a higher rank skill? Rank 1 skills have a faster training time thus more skill points would be trained.

So you say the amount of SP's will be based on the snap shot. OK, that would mean the skill rank being trained as well.

Snapshot of a player with a set of +5 implants training a rank 1 skill. That player then switches to a naked jump clone (No implants) and goes on a rampage and probably goes thru a few more j-clones. Then said player jumps back to main clone with the +5 implants just before the 24 hrs is over.

Snapshot shows him with +5 implants training a rank 1 skill and he gets credited massive amount of SP's when in reality he spent the majority of that 24 hr time period with no implants at all. He then uses those credited SP's on a rank 14 skill. This situation can also be viewed on the flip side. Suppose someone was going to buy a set of implants on that day? Problem is the snapshot only shows him with no implants thus he won't get the extra SP's due.

I agree with the whole test server thing, but the ONLY thing that affects training speed is implants. you do NOT gain skill points any faster training a rank 1 skill over a rank 6 skill. A rank one skill SEEMS faster because you actually have fewer sp to train in order to advance it one skill level.

IE: Spaceship command (rank 1) level 4 -> level 5= 210745 sp

Battlecruisers (rank 6) level 4 -> level 5 = 1264470 sp

Really kinda sad how people are vaguely for this, but only if there were a rollback.

No, wait. It's really sad.

This guy is a Goon. Isn't that what they do anyway?

Just wanna say he's not a goon, and actually a very good friend of mine.(Do you know who I am?)

He has a tagline saying "I support the Goons" which basically means he will behave as one, even if he hasn't been let into the clique yet.
And no, I don't know who you are.

Would you still like to have an Armageddon Day if you can't keep the skillpoints which were trained during that day?

YES YES YES

This is a great idea. Full day of free for all slaughter and awesome, then reset everything like it never happened.

I won't even mind the loss of skill (though I wouldn't turn down a compensatory bundle of SP).

This would be a chance for all the care bears (like me) to cut loose and try some mayhem. I love it.

Ample warning over every channel and form of communication, with clear details for all players.

But **** yes, this.

Sancha come in and disable concord...

Sancha take out cloning bays so people are reset 1 days training

Concord took responsibiliy and is refunding all lot ships.

Esentially do the event and then roll back......have some rp explanation...maybe a GM in a few supers to make it crazy.

Make a good demo of time dialation.

Just skimmed over the entire thread and I must say... gawd daymn! Some people need to get back to basics and relearn how to have pointless fun for the sake of pointless fun.

Killmails? Who cares. You have the story. Tell it to future players. With no corroborating "evidence" (aside from some peers maybe) you can tell a good story and embellish a bit for effect. Twisted
No SP gain for a day? Comon. That's 24 hours out of... how long have you been playing? I've been playing for 3 years. That's 1,095.75+ days. I'd be willing to give up one or two of those days of training for an epic free-for-all with no real tangible gains/consequences.
Afraid of losing ****? Everything get's rolled back after 24 hours. Go wild and do all the stupid dumb crap that you've always thought about doing. Pimp out that Nightmare with 8 bil in officer mods and jump into a gatecamp. Refit your mission ship, get together with a bunch of other carebears in their refitted missions ships, and Leeroy into the lion's den of pirate scum!!! It's not like you'll be ACTUALLY risking your ship (you get it back the way it was in 24 hours).

They don't want it on the test server.

What they want is not even a combat functionality test.

It's not even a "let's have a huge death match and a ton of fun!".

It's all about those people in high sec who will not know - being casual players not watching the forums and ads- getting griefed and even if the loss is not permanent, greifers are still going to enjoy getting a rise out of somebody.

If I want to play a death match, I got COD2 for that.

Here's a deal: let's have an Armageddon or "I had a really bad dream that everything went Mad Max" day, but make sure that EVERY player gets an email notice first from CCP.

Doesn't seem so attractive now, does it?

That would mean the griefables would either not log in (because nothing you do will last win or lose) or they might gear up combat ships and get ready to have a good time.

I would bet that most of the people thinking this is a good idea expect to catch others as they try to mine an mission, not having gotten the memo, and greif them while relishing in the tears.

I would love to see a Mad Max destructo-bonanza but I would also hope everybody gets the memo first.

And there is also a liability. Even if the loss is not permanent, if they have to deal with "AWW UMAD UGOT PWNED NOOB GBTW LOLZ PHAG HEADSHOT!!" they would decide that not having to put up with people like that at all and having the choice means no more sub. Even people who know it's just a game will decide not to have to put up with semi-autistic griefers.

Yes, absolutely.

I agree with ShahFluffers above, fun for the sake of fun is no bad thing.

Edit:

To the poster above me, it's not about griefing for me. I'd be whipping out things like battlehulk fleets and n00bships just to have fun and do whatever I wanted. Not everyone is out for the tears of others, though I agree, everyone should be aware of what's going on in advance.
