I know ever build matches every player, so here are my goals....short term.

I am a solo flyer, non-affiliated Gallente pilot. I have mined till my eyes bleed and after tonight i will have Gal Cruiser lvl2 trained.

My short term goals are to run solo missions for a while, because its more fun then mining. I want to be able to either defend my self or manage to escape someone if i get caught off guard (i know that depending on who catches me i may just be out of luck). I stay in high faction areas however.

My play style has turned to having 4+ hybrids and targeting multiple enemys at once and firing evenly. I never even pay attn to drones nor do i really like then. I aspire to be a tank that can put out moderate to good DPS without DEPENDING on drones. But i can keep then in the back of myimd on tough missions, i just hate deploying them all the time, is annoying.

Im looking at T2 gallente euther faction ships or advanced ships. The faction ships however i think are much more in my price range (but for a good build i can go back out mining).

So based off this, what would be the best Gal T2 Cruiser for me? Or, the best temporary one while i retrain for a diff race of cruisers if thats the case....

Just go with a T1 for now they are more than sufficient for lvl 2 missions.

Find out which one you like best then upgrade from there, rushing into a T2 or faction cruiser may result in loss (which you obviously can't afford right now).

HAC or faction cruiser in lvl2s is arguably overkill and while you can use them for lvl3s and even lvl4s a BC will be more efficient in lvl3s and a BS will be more efficient for lvl4s.

If hybrid weapons is your designated route, then for L2s a thorax or a moa would suffice, and the buff coming to medium rails will make them much better platforms for PvE. Start with them and train your gunnery and fitting skills so that you can use T2 rails and sport a good tank. After that, move on to a Brutix or a Ferox for L3s.

In the future, T2s like Deimos or Eagle will also be good for the job, it will take a lot of time though before you are able to fly them efficiently. Same goes for attack BCs like the Naga or Talos.

For L4s consider only Battleships. The Hyperion, Megathron and Rokh are good platforms. In the end, you will find yourself inside a Navy Megathron, A Vindicator or a Kronos.

Well you seem to like guns and not drones so...

Catalyst>Thorax>Deimos/Exequror Navy Issue>Brutix>Navy Brutix

You still should train for drones as they are necessary to deal with elite frigs when you are in the larger ships.

That being said I have found drones to be much more efficient as missions are more about damage application than having the highest DPS.

You need a battleship or well fit small ship (HAC, T3, command ship) to earn decent ISK doing missions.
Even then, it's pretty bad. Orbit beacons in FW instead and make mad cash with a cheap frigate.
PS: Ishtar is one of the best HAC for PVE with t2 sentry drones.
It's also an awesome PVP ship. Gallente cruiser V ftw.

For missions other than L1, you will probably be better off linking your guns and focusing fire on a single target at a time. It's better to kill one enemy every x seconds than to kill 4 enemies at the end of 4x seconds. The latter has you under heavier fire for longer, meaning you have to tank more damage than you otherwise wouls.

Not to mention that your DPS will be strunggling against the rep capability of 4 ships rather than 1 ships

Eg:

You shoot 1 gun capable of 100 DPS each at 4 ships each capable of repairing 25 DPS. Your net DPS is 400 - (4 x 25) = 300 DPS

Meanwhile, I shoot 4 guns each capable of 100 DPS at 1 ship capable of repairing 25 DPS. My net DPS is 400 - (1 x 25) 375 DPS.

My net DPS is 25% better than yours: I will kill 5 ships in the time it takes you to kill 4.

As far as progression to t2 cruisers goes, you have one extrmely simple option:
• cruiser stage, thorax and vexor
• HAC stage, deimos and ishtar

Skill training is quite simple: you will train droneskills eventually in any case, and you want to train hybrids personally. Just train cruiser V, play around with t1 and faction versions, and train HAC V if you like the style.

These ships are all excellent for pvp. Navy vexor and ishtar are as good at pve as cruisers generally come, and medium rail buff will make thorax and deimos a bit more interesting soon.

I think you are naturally on the right track here

Ignore T2 for now, go with pirate or Navy variants. For example, the Vigilant or Gila are great ships with Cruiser 5.

your going to have two over lapping skills

Cruiser 5
Medium Hybrid 5

cruiser 5 unlocks both HACs & the Proteus
M Hybrids are used on Hacs, Proteus and BC's

for actual advice
train BC now (or when you plan to start running L3's)
Train HAC/Strategic Cruiser later

also
y u no use drones ???

Your end goal for missions should be a battleship, not a cruiser.

Thorax>Brutix>Navy Brutix>MegaThron>Mega Navy Issue>????
For missions the answer is ======================>Kronos
For PvP the answer is =========================>Moros>Erebus...

But remember just when you get used to something in eve it changes again. Be flexible and keep your options open. Gallente are pretty good right now. But the FOTM will sway once again.
