Before I start, yes Im not an eve newb and yes this is the character i want to bring in FW. Now thats out of the way.

Been considering dropping into faction warfare, didnt really like the look of cal/gal so was wondering whats up in the Amarr/Minmatar zone at the moment. Im looking at things like what corps are currently doing stuff and hence being worth joining, what sort of fleets get flown/ships worth skilling for quickly, pirates to be aware of in the warzone and what FCs are worth following when fleets are going up.

I appreciate it seems like a lot to ask for but I want to know about what I'm getting into rather than just jumping in blind.

Only in general fighting, but we are having quite the influx of caldari farmers atm also. But over all it seems very quiet.

Dont bother with amarr/minmatar. amarr won the war. all the vets left for different aspects of eve.

all there is is minmatar now.

I seriously contemplated resubbing my Main just to post this.

But Meh.....We took ourzad while they lived in it. We figured that was our main goal in EVE. We won EVE when we pushed back the last minnie push from three Amarr systems to the fall of Arzad in one months time, The sight of IO carriers gtfo'ing from Arzad undock was all the endgame anyone at Amarr could have asked for.

So ya go ahead and pat yourselves on the back for taking Saht with no one defending it. We all know exactly when push comes to shove who gets pushed and who gets shoved.

This is the 2nd thread I've seen you declare Amarr as the FW victor over Minmatar. Did you at any point control all the FW zones and have them all upgrade to level 5?

Remember that time you pushed all the corps and alliances in minnie FW out of their space?

Yeah those were good times..er..what?

What do you mean you only kicked ONE alliance with a couple dozen active pilots out of their long held home only with the help of reddit and their dust bunnies?

Wow. It sounded so much cooler and more epic when you said it.

Mostly the way the caldari seem determined to fight each other rather than anyone else and the gallente just seem to be off riding bikes elsewhere or sitting around with their thumbs up their butts. If I'm going to join a war it helps if theres an actual war to join.

Cal/Gal consistently kills more than Min/Mar warzone on a weekly basis. For this week, we have 5,500 kills versus the 4,000 for the Mar/Minnie. And this doesn't include all the pirate corps that give us pvp content in the area. Min/Mar has no where near the level of pirate activity or militia pvp that Cal/Gal has. I've recruited Min/Mar militia pilots who says the pvp content is night and day between both warzones.

If this doesn't make for an attractive warzone, I'm not sure what does.

Are you wondering where there is more randome pvp or are you wondering where their is more of a battle for sov?

For random pvp you can look at the statistics in EVE. They will give you a rough estimate.

As far as battles for sov. Well the vast majority of fw sov is not won through pvp battles. Most plexes are captured by rabbit plexers who run from pvp. You can find them everywhere. Only the severely brain damaged care about fw sov anymore.

Aside from Fweddit and (occasionally I.Laws), the Amarr militia has been in a constant state of collapse since June of 2012. They have an old guard that's totally useless but can't quite bring themselves to quit permanently.

The Minmatar are a bit of a rabble, and a lot of the leaders are really egotistical and obnoxious, but they do actively try to capture the warzone. Except for all the ones who don't.

Pirates: Shadow Cartel is presently basing in the Eugidi constellation, Heretics continue to be a permanent fixture of Amamake, and PL can be annoying when they're home.

Ships: cruisers down, mostly armor. Honestly, cruisers aren't that common; it's almost all frigates and destroyers. This is not the place if you want large gangs or heavier ships. Also, prepare yourself for Link Alts Online, especially in major systems.

The actual "war" part of FW is barely applicable anymore. If you are looking to join because you want to be a part of some meaningful fight against 2 groups who hate each other and are fighting for a greater cause blah blah blah, that won't happen. What we do have is tons of pvp, of every variety, with small gang being the norm while BS and caps aren't an exception. Much of the pvp isn't against wartargets but against various pie entities in the area. Not sure how that diminishes the pvp though or the access to it.

The Cal are fractured and disorganized I can't disagree with that. The "thumb up the butt" impression of Gallente on the other hand could not be further from the truth when it comes to pvp. The corps here live and breath it. If you had joined a half decent one you would know that. Or maybe your expectations are to high who knows.
