Do I enjoy EVE?

Absolutely not, I feel like it is a second job. Some days I just don't want to go in...but I have to maintain that damn skill queue.

Does playing EVE make me happy?

What the hell do you think? It is the second job equivalent of...pulling your pants down, and helicoptering your junk around the room, while stabbing your friends in the back, taking a dump on your secretary's desk, laughing at a little kid after you take his bike, doing a mountain of blow, and then putting on a suicide vest and taking out a group of curious onlookers.

So yea, it can be fun. Twisted But only sometimes...

*Side Note*

KnowUsByTheDead, his other characters, The Lunatic Fringe, and any other related entities do not condone the following:

-Helicoptering your junk around the workplace
-Stabbing your friends in the back Blink
-Having bowel movements on other people's desks. Ugh, think of the mess.
-Stealing from children**
-Laughing at children**
-Doing mountains of blow. It's a hell of a drug.
-Or senseless violence.

**Children can be dirty brats sometimes...so this is allowed at the user's discretion.

...and that's just from dealing with corporate politics, chatting in local and reading the forums. Imagine what actually flying the spaceships is like!

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I don't have fun playing EVE, I just have varying levels of anger, sadism, and bitterness when playing. When my anger and sadist levels are at their highest, I suppose it might look like I'm "having fun" to the common man.

In November I will have played eve for 10 years...

a decade...

I started when I had no children, lived in London, before alliances, before carriers, pos, moon goo, T2, battlecruisers, freighters and a million other things, I used to roam 0.0 in a thorax with a bro also in a thorax and camp MHC in syndicate with our bay full of heavy ogres, I got ganked by MoO corp... Eve has been very long in my life now.

Inflation is rising, my stockpilled isk is deflating in value, I load a ship I have not used in a while and due to changes have to change the setup to undock.

I now have 4 kids, moved county, moved up many magnitudes in terms of career.

I am here now as i have invested ALOT of time, isk and RL money to get there I am, so won't leave while i am still alive.
I am ranked #221 in top posters despite not having posted more than 10 replies in a few years!

I will be in eve till my last breath due to the amount of time i have spent in game!

My clone costs more than some T2 fit ships, which is annoying, I used to love to zip about in a dessie to just have a laugh but clone costs are still silly
inflation is too high, isk is not worth what it used to be, more normal sinks need to be introduced to the complete populous of eve, super high clone costs for oldies is a 1 sided sink, need to be things all people spend on to stop the trillions of isk leaking in.
I am happy that botting has been cracked down on so hard, that has stopped alot of isk flow and very pleased now you get a temp botting ban you can't just sell the char... that is def a good thing!

With jump drives Eve is so much smaller, people say "so much empty space" there should be more, it should feel like a waste land in many areas, i would be happy with a 10x increase in 0.0, and would be open to deeeeeeep 0.0 that could not be sovved up to allow people to explore, maybe plonk down a pos (then deal with fuelling problems) really make it sparse and exciting.

I like alot of the new features, duelling for example is a nice addition.
I am not so happy with dust and that vampire thing.. the money spent on that could have been an awesome add campaign for eve.. CCP need to realise EVE is their money maker, stop trying to expand into things like FPS and vampires, grow what they have, advertise, take some of the WoW leavers!

Thinking about it this list could be bloody long ,so i'll save some for another post later :D

It does make me a little warm and fuzzy inside that people are able to blow themselves up by using my products.

Today I don't enjoy not nearly as much as I did when I was in the UNI, living in wh's, and later fighting a futile fight against the russians and PL.

My old crew in wh's killed who knows how many brain cells out of lack of sleep backing each each other up, and ran a perfectly communist organization, and we absolutely loved it. Two of my old crew started out as corp mates and actually got married. No one cared about how much more we could make doing something else, or stealing, or null sec ratting, and if someone screwed up and blew up a mining boat of some poor smuck we ran across, we paid the victim for that ship and he got an apology. We were not a poor group, but treated everyone we met with as much decency and respect as was extended by them.

Today, you don't hear much of that kind of thing, and it is really sad. The game has become far too industrialized, and the dark side of Eve is celebrated far too much.

But that being said, I stay around out of sheer bloody-mindedness, and I am compelled to fight the good fight against the people I feel are out to destroy the game, even though that fight is as futile as when NC started folding. I keep hoping that the people steering the game's direction will be relieved of that responsibility, and others who view the game as something where the strong can run rampant over the weak is not the best way to grow the game.

Eve is about conflict and competition, no doubt. But there has to be balance and fairness as well, and every day I see less and less of that.

Happy when you blow up something or spend time with corp mates.
Sad when CCP nerfs stuff, which is very often.

basically you can not let go of it, because it sucks out more energy then it gives back

gamplay is timeconsuming and frustrating, PvP mechanics are just bad, hours of waiting, then eeh eeh blob, thats why most of the players just do PvE

because the game is so frustrating, most people tend to be assholes in the game and on the forums

the game mechanics, does not favour fun, it favours frustration and how to avoide it is the key

* enemie comes, just dock
* enemie comes, just trashtalk
* enemie comes. blob 30 vs. 1
* goto null, eeh eeh blob, never go there again and run missions

the game too much favours anoying playstyles, and even worse, people think its cool, like scamming, ganking all of that, the winner seems to be the one who frustrates the others, however you loose the good and just keep the bad...

its a downward spiral

You'd think the obvious answer would be "yea, Im here spending a lot of time/money right?" but for some people the answer is "meh, , just waiting for somehting better to come along and NONE of the recent space based games over the last 10 years fit the bill so meh I'm still here waiting but EVe really sucks" lol. I will NEVER understand the EVE player that doesn't like EVE.

EVE is hands down the best game (MMO or otherwise) I've ever experienced. So much so that I've been at work, thought of some new fit or concept I wanted to try, and have had to fight the urge call the boss to tell him I have to to run home to EFT/EVEMON Cool . It's been that way for me since June 2, 2007 and the feeling is as strong as ever.

This begs the question: what, despite all that, keeps you coming back?
