Hello everyone hope your flying is going well, ive run to a slight problem, ISK has become a bit of a problem i cant sell my ores and minerals for a profit no longer as people keep making a tonne of orders for like 2 isk in every system that i have mined in for the past month and my covetor is not helping with the whole mining proficiency and im capable to use a hulk already only im not making enough isk to actually purchase a hulk what can i do in order to make isk in order to get a hulk
(My covie only has 3 strip miners mineral scanner, and a pair of expanded cargohold II's) cant afford the rig's :P but still, im needing to get this hulk asap so i can assist my corp in making isk.

Hmm ... don't sell to buy orders?!

Haul your minerals to the next reasonable buy order or sell it yourself.

Like he said. Or put sell orders by your self.

Refine in system (try and make sure you can get 0% waste) and haul to a hub to sell. Selling in your system probably won't work well unless it's a hub itself, and usually the belts there are small.

Mineral buy orders are used by unscrupulous people like me, to oppress honest miners and steal their profit.

Actually works quite well. Pirate

As for doing your own sell orders, I'd recommend always building up a stockpile and selling it all at once. Doesn't really depress the price like it might for some, because minerals are always in demand. And if I can avoid having to fly round 6 systems to save a fraction of an isk per unit, I'll pay that fraction more to have it all in one place. When I'm buying the basics, I'm buying millions of units at a time (When I can't get it cheap on buy orders. Minimum volumes there are a life saver. Why does anyone sell 50 trit a time? Annoying.). If I can hit a single station, and it won't damage my margin too much, I will.

Very few producers are ever going to pay market price for minerals acquired via a buy order (unless it's a station-only buy order at their manufacturing location). Even fewer are going to pay market sell price for raw ore.

The dynamics involved are "time = ISK" and also "effort = ISK". Convenience has a worth in EVE.

- Bring the minerals to me? I'm likely to pay more. Especially if it's a bulk (at least 50-100M ISK worth) sell order that isn't outrageously above (very subjective) market value. Tritanium and Pyerite are very good minerals for this, it's not far fetched to get an extra 5-10% for those if they're sold in the right location. They're a PITA to haul, even with a freighter.

- Sell me raw ore? I won't take it off your hands for market rate and I'll want a discount because now I'll have to probably haul it somewhere in order to get it refined.

- Smaller orders in far flung locations are a waste of time for me unless they are a good 20-30% below market value. Saving 500k and having to travel 10 jumps to do so, is a waste of time. (Unless I plan on doing other shopping in that system.)

(It's the best part about EVE's market model - products acquire value as they move closer to the buyer.)

Yeah I think scrapyard above has the right of it.

Only thing I might add is that if you're not selling to your (mining?) corp then I suggest you're in the wrong corp ?

Plenty of corps will buy minerals from their miners specifically for many of the reasons Bob and others above have pointed out.

Time and effort = isk. If they can get a group of people delivering or producing their minerals for them, they need to worry about the market/logistics less.

Join the manufacturing channel in game also - plenty of people there will buy in bulk in a region near you ;)

Join a mining corp as said before, if you can use a hulk they might give you one to pay off.

ya my first corp was an indy corp and we'd buy ores at sell order price then make a margin on having a guy with perfect refining and standings actually turn it to minerals. Network.

90% of of the time my posts are about something I actually find interesting and want to learn more about. Do not be alarmed.

I was about to send you 200m isk as I giggled at Oxytope prices when I logged in just now.

I have some concerns however.

Why are you in a 2 man Corp?
Is Picazzo your alt?
Are you his alt?
You've been playing for nearly 6 months, Picazzo since '04.
Between the 2 of you, you can't raise 200m for a hulk?

I've held onto my isk.
