Usb-plugging an Occulus Rift into one isn't the same thing as plugging in a laundry machine or a refrigerator. The Oculus Rift is usb powered (low voltage) and should consume about the same or little more power than your regular mobile device display as that's basically what it is (Head Mounted Display) with the addition of motion sensors.

Never used one before or read its technical specs, so I don't know if there is any significant amount of magnetism emmited by the integrated circuit

Actually, regarding my last posts, after looking for OR spec info I found out the curcuit is separated from the headset and it's actually powered from external power source (AC/DC converter) but it won't be too hard for them to pull the power it uses from a usb cable like we see this dude doing here http://www.roadtovr.com/2013/04/18/oculus-rift-usb-power-hack-eliminates-need-for-a-wall-adapter-4971 and with the new gen mobile devices and lithium ion batteries it might be viable to do so.

While I thought this was awesome, my first impression was that you would have people in your archon carrier, such as a dust player, and during a fight you would launch them into space and they would be a part of your fleet in battle. Like in a regular battle you tell who is primary, they could be a part of that battle. I do like the idea of this though because I played the star wars rouge squadron when I was younger and loved it.

Good job CCP for making another great looking game!!!!

From looking at a short trailer, this game looks very promising.
Its the perfect sort of game to help sell the Rift. I know ill be buying one if its affordable.

Its good to see that CCP see a great idea and are willing to run with it.

This little demo looks really amazing!

A lot of work on the road for you guys to deliver it on a dedicated expansion but I can't wait to use it IG. Keep the good work.

I, for one, protest this obvious pro-Minmatar bias. P

Soon all of EVE will be Glass and Duct Tape. Mwhahahahaha!!!

Also, as much as I'd love to play this game, poor little me doesn't have the moolah.

WoW. . .amazing. . .it bothers me that every time i get back to game CCP has to do something extremely stupid.

After my first break they decided to get paid by sony and not release DUST as a paid expansion to eve for PC, yet they made this laggy annoying empty, quite frankly ugly game with textures that take ages to load. . .. that most people use keyboard and mouse connected to ps3 to actually PLAY IT. [ Its like "hey we know you have this 12 core quad sli workstation but we WILL REQUIRE YOU to buy 300usd weak ass console and connect your keyboard and mouse and play in ugly gfx with 30fps and 720p because sony paid us to do so" ]

Then after the second break they decided to fuk up the only enjoyment i had and nerfed ice mining to the point of complete uselessness.

Now after third break i discover they finally will make an arcade space sim [probably because Star Conflict showed them how its done. . . .but it will be some Virtual Reality bullpoo which i never ever cared about and most sane civil people wont ever buy because its even more annoying, gimmicky and waaaay more expensive than last hype - 3d glasses.

Wonder how much time will pass till CCP actually does something interesting . . . .

Given the recent record of mediocrity standardized in game/expansion releases from CCP it wont surprise me to see this one poorly delivered aswell. Might take a long time for you to see that happen. Looking forward to hearing Gamescom news about other companies' releases like Rockstar Games which has delivered awesome sauce WINNING SWAG in all their titles, and hear confirmation on GTA V PC version.

Ppl, stop being so shortsighted. think about it: the CCP umbrella contains not just a previously über l337-only space ship MMO, but now a mainstream FPS, and with Valkyrie, a front running 3D shooter.

If you enjoy EVE and would like to see CCP succeed, this is something to root for, even if you don't find CCP's other offerings appealing. I play Dust (and purchased a PS3 for it) just to be in touch.. I feel like it was meh and a bare minimum attempt to jump on a bandwagon. Checking a block, you know?

But Valkyrie, and making a 3D offering... This is a huge move that CCP is singularly able to make, with their uncommon single-shard server philosophy, and as a whole--EVE, Dust, and Valkyrie are synergistically '...more than the sum of its parts'

Valkyrie is relevancy. At times I've wondered about EVE's longevity--how long will we stay interested, really. But it makes so much sense now. Being bluntly honest: maybe EVE isn't the vehicle for innovation, but it makes a great anchor.

The OG pod pilots are the people to be, anyway, in the EVE universe. more peons to look cool in front of.

Hopefully, there will be some bleedthrough from Valkyrie and Dust. Like dismounted exploration.

Also, I love the idea of a handful of talented staff pushing out a concept like this. That's the story I'd like to read

Excuse my pessimism but does this mean that EVE will be neglected for at least another patch?

Guess we will have to wait for the PLAN TO END ALL PLANS AND A SAVE EVE HALLELLUJAH!! to be announced (maybe) at GamesCon.

But after 5 years of being teased, deceived, fukked, ignored and disappointed, my hopes that CCP performance improves are slim.

Nonetheless, I'm ready for humiliation. Come on, make a fool of me. Shock me. Thrill me. Embarrass me. Make me swallow all my words of the last 2 years.

I dare you, CCP. Make me lick your boots in admiration and travel to Iceland just to tell you how much you rule and how much I suck.

I wanna be your dog.

Talented staff pushing out a concept like this:

EVE VR:
- Used Oculus Rift hardware developed by 3rd party company ✓
- Used Unity graphic engine developed by 3rd party company ✓
- Hired pay to win marketing weasel to put in charge of game and business model development ✓

Dust 514
- Used Unreal 3 graphic engine developed by 3rd party company ✓
- Cloned FPS features from other titles and delivered rather dull and washed up gameplay ✓
- Sold the product to Sony to be released in old and weak PS3 platform hardware ✓

Meanwhile, on its own company developed graphic engine software:

Trinity:
- Unable to iterate on and develop it's graphics for DirectX 11 support and improve model/particle collision physics ✓
- Unable to improve core gameplay feautures like POS and SOV mechanics untouched for ages ✓

Carbon:
- Unable to deliver fluid avatar movement and gameplay features ✓
- Unable to deliver build of the software that doesn't melt user GPU's ✓

Waving CCPeens around with feats like "Connecting all the three games in a single server" might seem appealing to you, but it's not what most people are looking for when they buy and play a game (don't take my word for it, ask the players and check Dust 514 server population).

Go get urself a copy of Max Payne 3 or GTA IV and check out the RAGE engine by Rockstar and the gameplay features delivered and take a look at what a handful of talented staff pushes out:

Wave your CCPeen around when u turn ur own game engine into something as good as this brahs Lol

Oh and btw, in case you didn't see, in the end of those trailers there is this written in there:

"xbox 360, ps3, PC"

and

"THIS TRAILER WAS MADE ENTIRELY FROM IN GAME FOOTAGE"

I challenge CCP do do the same in the next EVE Online "expansion" trailer Lol
