It takes money to make money?

So, hypothetical situation. Say I, through a little time and a lot of luck, managed to get about 6 billion ISK in my account. Everything I've read is telling me that the more money you have, the more money you can make. Now I fully realize that in the grand scheme of things, 6 bil is diddly squat, but for a high-sec carebear it's not bad. I'm looking for some ideas of what players can do to make money after they've already built up a bit of a wallet.

I've been playing some market games and making a little off that, but it's pretty boring. Any other thoughts?

Well, it depends on how patient you are and how much research or effort you want to put in to it. If you're patient but don't want to put a lot of effort in, you can go long term on stuff that rises and falls periodically. If you're patient and want to take some risk, you can do patch speculation i.e buy up stuff that looks like it will gain value with the next expansion and sell on the spike after the expansion comes out.

Conversely, if you're impatient and don't mind working for the isk, you can station trade in Jita 4-4, or one of the other hubs. Or, if you're somewhat patient and know what you're doing (and don't mind a fairly large risk) you can manipulate markets. 6bil will work for some of the smaller stuff.

There's lots of options for ya, just pick one you like =) Or, better yet, make your own option!

Just the fact that you have so much money entitles you to a lot of different options. Lending money to players for interest is a way of doing it (try to secure the loan somehow). You can now afford lots of BPO's which if researched can net you a passive income, selling copies or even selling the researched BPO. You can play the market more aggressively since 6 billion allows you to 1) influence the local markets quite a bit and 2) leaves you room to wait out/swallow your mistakes without being taken to the cleaners.

Once you get a regular income going a real important issue is that your expenses for ships, modules, etc become negligible compared to your income, so your wallet can't go anywhere but up. That's always nice.

IMHO, unless you're a full-time trader, I wouldn't worry about turning the isk you already have into more isk. Concentrate on finding more/better streams of income from your skill points and knowledge rather than from your wallet. This way, you'll be able to keep your stream of income regardless of what's actually in your wallet.

Buy all the Navy Comets you can find for a low price and resell them once the new version is out, and people sees that it actually looks pretty damn cool.
