I have met the best of characters, the most generous of strangers, the most friendly of corps. But. I think the game is getting too nasty, evil seems to be reigning.
I love this game. But since the corp I'm in has been targeted for War by other corps for no reason but War.
I have been ganked and pod killed for no reason.
You even find high sec are no longer safe because nutters decide to destroy and die.

Evil only reigns supreme when good men do nothing.

Highsec is never safe, it is merely safer than other places, even if you're not involved in a war. War is the engine that drives Eve, being ganked and podded are a small part of it, and they can be started for any reason, or no reason at all.

If you find wars an unwanted part of Eve, drop back into an NPC corp, you can't be wardecced if you're in one. However you can still die while in one, because people will shoot at you for giggles, especially if you fly expensive stuff or decide to go afk while in space.

On the off chance that you have some stuff, would you kindly reallocate it my direction, all donations are gratefully received.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I know you are right and its only a game. But it just seems that the wrong aspects of the real world out there, seem to be coming through more and more in the game.

I know most of you will think I'm a pathetic wimp. But its almost like the worst aspect of human nature is coming through. I don't like that. There should be a balance.

I certainly hope you stick around, whoever explained about High Security space to you explained it wrongly.
It is not safe space. It is 'safer' than Low or Null sec space.
It is still Space.
Space is dangerous. All sorts of dangers are out there. Gankers, War Decs, Hostile Factions, Environments in certain places.
Your corp leader also should have explained to you about the war dec properly, they have done a poor job not conveying things to you one way or another. It might be that the War Dec is simply because they are looking for a fight, then your corp leader should have talked to them, worked out a time perhaps to have one good fight, all the ships & pilots each side could bring. Maybe offer a frigate only fight if your corp is poor, so you can all turn up with 20 prepared frigates and have a massive T1 frigate brawl. The other guys might break their word and turn up in T2 Battleships sure, but then they look like idiots to everyone else, and T1 frigates are hardly impressive on their killboard from T2 battleships. Or they might have been after a pay off. Or they might have been hired by a rival corp who wants you to stop mining in the same system as them......
EVE is alive, use it :)

Has your corp considered asking the people who've wardecced them why they've been wardecced? Sometimes it can be as simple as a member posting "your mum" jokes in local or a ridiculous post on the forums. If you mission run or mine during one you're guaranteed to explode, if however you fight back, even in frigates, you'll learn something. When you explode contact your opponents, offer up a GF (good fight) in local, ask them where you went wrong, ask them to critique your fitting, most of them will be happy to help out someone who asks pertinent questions. I know that some wardec corps often end up helping out their targets by offering to share their experience and knowledge, for a fee. They'll even help out in future wardecs if you are good sports about it.

I know its not safe, but defo should be safer. I know people will say that is the freedom of the game.

Can I tell u a story you all probably will have been through?
Once upon a time, a little ship set out into safeish space. Some nasty boys came out and destroyed his little ship and his body was incinerated in his pod. Why. For no reason?!
This little ship had been flying for 1 week. He lost everything. Then nearly decided not to go into space ever again.

I think Ive found a much better sim for your liking. Its called World of Warcraft. Have you heard of it?

There are also other games you might enjoy such as etch a sketch or solitaire. I think that might keep you busy for a moment or two.

I knew I would get the 'wimp' post.

Its not that. I play because its one of the best games ever. But I also think the game can be so nasty it could put people off.
