Corps like the goonies will bring the dps they need to kill you. That number will vary and your tank will not matter only to the point of how many ships they used to gank you.

Right bc there is no profit in it. Should some one want to kill you they will regardless of tank if they bring enuff dps and they dont care about cost.

A reasonable tank fit will prevent the noob gankers. I did see a kill mail of a corp mate few months back that was taken out by the goonies and he had a tanked Mackinaw.

Tanking does make you are harder target but it will not make you invunerable.

You're right it doesn't, what it does do is encourage them to find easier targets, however most of the "victims" consider a tank of more than a small shield booster superfluous to requirements, for all intents and purposes that isn't a tank, it's not even a token gesture.

Anything with a ton of sebos and scrams.

See, most gankers are outlaw and being chased by facpo. If you hold them up coming off a gate, or undock, Facpo will pop them. You'll even get the killmail credit!


Also, confirmed, every time CODE goes out a gankin', we bring 50+ gank ships. Don't worry about tank, it's totally useless, we'll just bring more. May as well yield-fit that Makinaw and go watch MLP.

Since nobody's given the OP a fit in some 3 pages:


Here's some options. The first one will about 2 shot a gank Catalyst, so you can use it to kill several over the course of a gank, potentially preventing them from killing anything. The second will jam out an average of around 2-2.5 catalysts, again, potentially preventing them from killing anything.

Of all the miners I've killed, none had a tank. Of the two that failed, the first one was my first attempt and I forgot to overheat my guns, and the second one was a tanked Hulk that we brought two (read: not thirty) Catalysts for, but failed because my corpmate accidentally targeted and shot the wrong ship, an Orca. I've soloed plenty of Hulks that had no tank, a few easily worth over a billion each, including pod and implants, with a ship that cost less than 20 mil.

I have only ever seen a fleet of destroyers as large as you are suggesting once, and they were after an Orca.
