Got any comments on art or anything you'd like us to tell the art department? This is your thread!

Release the High Resolution Art as was discussed during fan fest.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

Optional Hi-res texture packs. And make this happen, please make this happen. While corporation and alliance logos would be much easier to start, eventually I would love to see paint scheme options for all ships like in the link.

Release them as optional downloads.

Soundwave later commented that it wasn't going to happen because not all players can use it. Which misses the point pretty much entirely.

From what I've been able to get from various comments the textures exist (although this meeting with the art dept would be a good place to confirm that). It's the work of enabling an optional texture pack and setting up the download that would take some to and resources, this would likely be a different dev team than the art dept that would need to do this part.

I still hold that would likely be worth it. Many people have the equipment to enjoy this, but the real win would be higher quality videos created by talented individuals. Improved free advertising and happy users. How is this not a good idea?

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.

Give us the option to lower the brightness or outright remove site clouds: Some of the environmental clouds in wormhole sites, specifically the really bright blue/purple/white ones are very painful. For those of us who are prone to migraines and other headaches, or eye strain, these art things can be physically painful. "Zoom out" is not ideal solution.

Release the hi-res textures as an optional download please!

How about replacing the godawful loading screen with the unreadable white bar on black background with something more graceful? And what about an iconic animated Character selection screen, thematized for each expansion and with custom new music, as the old iconic login screens?

This game was deemed a work of art by the MOMA, but obviously they haven't logged in since Odyssey and the fugly launcher, followed by the uber fugly black screen and the you-obviosuly-wasn't-intended-to-see-this-first old character selection screen.

As it is, each truly new player (a rare breed) will be confronted with total fugliness and dullness, opposed to the awe inspiring login screens which every veteran player has fond memories of.

Any chance of direction/speed vectors on tactical view? (apologies if this is UI and not Art)

High Resolution Texture Pack, easily.

Iteration on engine trails and flares? Is any more work in the pipeline on those graphics?

Iteration on turret effects? Prettier pewpew instead of fuzzy blobs and lines?

I may get strung up by I don't terribly care about the High Res pack. Stuff like memory usage stats for it would be nice though, just so we can get an idea of how bad we're talking about exactly. Eve across 2 monitors is easily the most graphically intensive thing my computer ever does (I keep the AC running while playing Eve and have to turn it off after or I freeze)

Ship pallet swaps would be nice, as would custom decals, though from what I gather this is less something we have to push for and more a "when is this going to be ready" thing... >.>

Oh! More iteration on some of the *really* old in-space set pieces like the asteroid mining colonies and some of the stations.

The spindly colonies in missions aren't bad... they're also a bit underwhelming though and date back at least one art update. Some of the Gallente Stations look rather off as well, which sucks since they're otherwise very visually appealing to most people. Seeing some of their stations remodeled to look more like a place ships park and less like a glass sculpture that barely holds 4 guys and a pet rabbit would be nice.

OH! Minmattar Outposts! Fix those huge freaking graphics, I swear one of those "windows" has a manikin in it the size of a frigate.

It would be nice to have the old character accessories brought back into game.

Also limited editions clothes for the female characters would be nice. After all we had a decent limited edition outer top once, but then CCP derped it and added it to NEX store without checking what was already in game...

Change the stations to their intended size. They are still tiny considering the size of the ships that can dock there.

Here's a list of thoughts, concerns, questions:

- There's a feel that most of the art team is being diverted to other CCP projects, could we have some sense of how many folks are working fulltime for EvE art development?

- Keep pushing more ship remodels!! All the Tech 2s that still have the same model as their Tech 1 variant should be getting a pass.

- Caldari cruisers, OMG MOAs...

- Are we ever gonna see some more Avatar/Incarna/WIS things being developed beside tattoos and tshirts? It would be nice to have at least all the clothing / accessories options that we used to have pre-incarna (avatars really felt more unique to each race then). I would also like to see some more station interiors with things to do (explore derelict stations!!!).

Houm, I don't think that releasing the clothing items finished at Singularity but unavailable at TQ competes to Art team, but certainly would be nice if those items were made avaialble.

Also would be nice an update on how cold is the dead body of Fanfest 2012's racial blending proposal.

I would say, the optional HD pack first, then ship reskins.

Some ships are in a dire need of a reskin. Moa, Typhoon are the two I'd like to see reskinned first.

I would love to see custom skyboxes for every system, so those of us who navigate by landmarks can feel more immersed in the universe. When Dodixie's sky is visibly different to Mirilene's sky, I will be a happy camper. This could be an optional at-cost feature, which I would happily pay, say, a PLEX or two per region for.

Also: command ship models?

What is happening with Tessellation?

Would really like to see Eve move fully to DX11 with tessellation as an option!

Echoing great desire for a high res texture pack and corp/alliance logos on ships.

As ship reskinning should be more possible in the future, I urge art to work harder on differentiating more Tech II ships from their Tech I counterparts in terms of physical models. I love the Phobos' subtle tweak over the Thorax hull, for example.
