This is a whole other game. The German Developer Team worked 7 years on it and it will be release in November 2013.
I dont thing it will have an impact on EvE. Its a singler player experience.
CCP is limited by the engine. The Engine for X Rebirth was just written for this game.
CCPs Engine has much problems just to render the Captain Quarter, lol.

All these topics about new scifi games that are going to compete with EVE..Do you people even play EVE?

EVE is a game with a futuristic space setting and the gameplay which many would reffer to as *excel sheets online*. This is to an extent true.


Here is the thing with EVE though: If EVE was a first person shooter set in a fantasy forest Id still play EVE, because it would still be EVE.

EVE is about the sandbox, about the politics, about the player driven world we have helped create over the years.
I personally dont care if its sprinkled with spaceships or elves. Hell it could be about mickey mouse for all I care.

Other scifi games wont blow EVE out of the water because the scifi aspect of EVE is not what keeps most people coming back.
Most people that start up EVE purely because they want a scifi game probably end up rage quiting anyway.

I'm going to go with "Because the only game harder to get into and enjoy than Eve is X"

Also single player. The only person I've ever made mad when playing X is my girlfriend.
