Issue with cargo space and missions

Agents keep screwing with my cargo space.

Example: right now I have to transport an item that is 0.1m3. Eve tells me: This mission involves objectives requiring a total capacity of 0.10 cargo units, but your active ship only has space for -2544.72 more cargo units in its cargo hold. Accept anyway?

My cargohold currently holds 5694.7m3 out of 8307m3 available (taken from the cargohold window and the fitting window)

5694.7 - 2544.7 = 3150, which is the cargo space I would have without expanded cargoholds.
The fitting window shows that the mods are active.

If I then try to put anything in my cargo: no more space.

If I strip the fitting and refit with the same mods, problem vanishes.

If I don't speak to an agent, my cargo stays fine...

Can anyone else reproduce that?
I reproduce it on three chars on 2 machines.
