Seriously, when was it ever ? Constellation/Orion/some unnamed manned capsule that looks just like Apollo... the boys from "Top Gear" have got a better chance of getting a new spacecraft into orbit than NASA does.

NASA - never a straight answer.

I'd be pissed if i was forced to donate to NASA when ever I use a plex but I'd have no issues with supporting smaller space research companies who are willing to take the risks and put humans on mars, or heck even the bloody moon.

Indeed ... one of their best shows ever.

As for NASA, well, when and if another Congress ever sits and takes manned spaceflight seriously again it will only be because "push has come to shove"... racing and trying to catch up.

Again.

Were you referring to me there? I'm not in any alliance, much less a renter alliance...

Space travel is grossly irresponsible when multiple continents are poverty stricken. We should choose who we donate to. If you have more time than money then start a fundraiser for what you want to donate money to and get at it.

I am all for shoveling money towards people here that could use it, but frankly, there will always be poverty. Should we never try to do anything in space just because there are things we could do here too? What about the huge advancements in daily life (e.g. medical science) that have already come directly from NASA research?

This thread has strayed a bit from my original idea, but I don't see how it would affect anyone that didn't want to participate.

There will only always be poverty while there is greed and oppression.

Taking that into space is the ultimate recipe for failure.

I have some kind of flackey memory that NASA can't accept donations etc as they're a government agency or something.
Also, CCP are Icelandic, so no doubt that'd add some kinda hindrance to it.

But, sure, it'd be nice to know that some money was going to something cool like that. Better would be knowing that CCP putting the money into making the game better and not over extending themselves to the point of bankruptcy :)

Stop playing eve, get a job and donate the money you make to space research... and stop asking for my money you filthy beggar.
