Gonna have to bump this thread and ask our beloved CSM: is CCP actually doing anything about this? Myself and others are still stuck with a 600 mil 30km-long insecure, useless POS ornament.

Here's an easy fix. .Shrink its size by 20 percent and give it just two anchor locations.

I'm somewhat amazed that this has been allowed for this long.

Here's an easy fix. .Shrink its size by 20 percent and give it just two anchor locations.

I'm somewhat amazed that this has been allowed for this long.

Personally, I'd say reduce the size by 50%.

1. Open database in edit mode
2. Find X-Large SMA line
3. Change "scaling" factor by .5
4. Save changes
5. Push into next SiSi update.
6. Include in 1.1

10 minutes.

edit: 1 - 4 are just an over simplificaton of how a database change is actually done, so you real DBA's out there, don't get into a tizzy about it.

I'm guessing you're okay with the first sentence, which just leaves the second sentence. We're not talking about a bug fix, we're talking about doing some brand spanking new game design work. I think it's fair to say that when we're talking about game design you'd like it to take the time to make sure that it's going to fill the role needed, and also that it doesn't inadvertently **** over some other aspect of the game.

So, as I said we need to discuss the scope (what other stuff gets affected) of the functionality (how should this work?), as well as the best (not the most obvious, but the best) way to fix it (move it to a state where people don't make threads).

I must disagree with you James.

The issue isn't with functionality -- the issue is with the SIZE.

All the devs did was change a few database entries in order to rename & allow the XLSMA (formerly the CSMA) to be anchored outside of sov null sec.

The SIZE issue can just as easily be corrected by tweaking a few numbers as well.

Changing the SIZE of this is not going to affect any "game play" other than general placement of the structure at a POS.

I never tried shooting it and its really hard to reproduce but I'd assume you can from the fact it was lockable - I've had so many random and bizarre bugs while having problems with sound (not sure if its just another symptom or cause) that its hard to know if its actually a problem with the POS code or a combination with some other bug.

Been three months since we discovered this issue and immediately closed ours down. Still no fix. Several people have said that the most simple of solutions would also be the easiest one, this is true. (I could take that model in an old 3ds max I have and set the scale to 95/100 and this would 100 percent solve the issue. As long as you reduce the real distance vs reported distance as well. )

I understand that things take time, but I mean seriously? You cant just take the model in whatever graphical programs you use set the scale to 95/100 and then update the database and roll it out so that instead of being like 2450ish away from this beast, we are now 3200 away at the closest of the edges?

And seeing as it was patch day yesterday and this wasnt in the patch notes... Am I to assume this wasnt fixed yesterday?
