Null Anom Ratting Ships

Right now I've been using a Vargar and a fleet Typhoon with cruise/t2 sentry, making about 22 mil a tic. So I'm wondering what may be better for 2 accts to to earn isk at anoms in nul. Carrier assigning fighters to a Tengu? 2 Navy domi's with t2 rails and sentries. Do blaster nagas still reap in the isk like they used to? Lastly will up coming expansion odyssey-1.1 have any big effect on the type of anom ratting ship one should look at getting?

Use Sentry's with the carrier.

Sentry carrier in 1 anom, a relatively hassle free boat running anoms in another system (with cyno array) as scout.

Would it help If I told you what system I'm using the carrier to rat in? I don't want to make your gank any harder than it needs to be Roll

Tengu and navy Dominix are easier to tackle than a jumpy sentry carrier sniping anoms at 100. The carrier ticks higher isk without using ammo. Everyone with carrier access, blue nullsec and half a brain rat in sentry carriers since the introduction of drone damage amps.

Not sure what half of your brain you're using but carrier ratting is highly frowned upon in our alliance. Personally I'd rather go with 2 Domi's and lose maybe 400 mil than lose a carrier worth 1.5 to 2 bil. Congrats if all those people you know never got ganked in their ratting carrier.

In all honestly I haven't heard of a alliance losing a ratting carrier, it is a pilot who fits his carrier wrong (no cyno for one) and I think we all know how easy it is to become distracted while running anoms in a drone boat. I myself would rather be distracted in a less expensive ship. Kudos to those of you who can stay fully focused while ratting.

Which rates are you shooting? If you shooting guristas, a shield vindi will get you 42mil ish ticks solos if you just stick to doing forsaken hubs back to back. You can do the same in a HAM tengu dual boxing a naga, tick will be split across 2 toons, I don't change my scourge rage heavy assaults when shooting the frigs, so you could maybe cut some time off switching missiles to deal with frigs, but then you will have 2 reload times. HAM tengu can get 900ps and the naga gets 1k with meta 4 large blasters.
I haven't seen anyone crack the 44 mil ticks since the change in the space I am in.
While domi's are nice, the DPS is still a little low to be competitive, 800DPS on gardes up to 60km.
I used to use sentry carrier in angel space and dual box with an arty maelstrom, that worked really well for sanctums. No sanctums in my current home Sad

Cage, I've also heard a few others in my corp say the Vindi is a good Guristas ratter (and yes I am in Gurista space). So I guess I'll experiment a little more, perhaps get a Vindi and then use my carrier acct to assign fighters to it. Or perhaps pair it up with a ham tengu I've got. thanks for the input.

I wouldn't assign fighters. The Vindi can carry a nice set of sentries and you'll probably want a flight of light drones to make your life easier when the frigs come.

Exactly this.. the assigned fighters don't add much help in anything but sanctums. I will probably also be moving from my ham tengu\naga pair to a ham tengu\vindi when I can bring myself to spend the iskies.. need a dread first cause pos bashing is the latest rage.. LOL

I thought you are flying a Vargur and a fleet Phoon already. A carrier is not far off from the Vargur.







I use a solo typhoon to get 22mil tics. T2 fit cheap and easy.

this ! im currently running a duo domi spider tank setup with with expensive module is the federation omni, total cost about 350 mil per ship.

with T2 Sentries i can clear Sansha Haven in 22, 23 mins or 14,15 mins in Forsaken hub.
