Hello All,

I am new to SISI and I find that even with shaders effectively off, the game is VERY dark. I have toyed with settings in and out of game and no luck.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Always ... Never ... Forget to check your references.   Peace out Zulu! Hope you land well!

I find that what you get in practice is that one side of the ship will be dark, only illuminated by the bridge lights and the other side will be well lit by the sun. This makes for a very visually stimulating effect that screams SPACE!

I love it. Cool

It's too dark and ends up being too much eye strain. I'd like to see my ship and dont give a crap about realism.

Pretty sure most of those "space is dark" posters, do it just for the lulz to oppose the OP.Roll

Again, not being able to clearly see our ships is ******** to say the least.

Aside from the changes in skins I have seen no real visible changes in available light on sisi except for lonetrek which is blinding.

As said in various other threads of this flavor, space is dark. Hope this helps.

I really like the new lighting.

I'm quite impressed by the range of effects/moods you can capture from travelling between regions. And I know it's hardly an ideal solution for anyone who thinks space is 'too dark', but... why not move to Lonetrek? It's anything but dark.

I mean the entire interface is too dark, I keep trying to turn up screen brightness. To those who say "must be your puter!" I hope you never find yourself on the "crap it's too dark side"

I like the new effects a lot, the lighting is neat, but the entire game is "too dark" to see properly for me.

By too dark, I don't mean "i can see my ship mommy!"

******* assholes.

Son, you are disappoint. People tend to have differing opinions on just about everything. Calling the dudes who have taken the time out to respond to your thread "assholes" veers between showing off social disorder and being on the verge of hysterical tears.

Make your point, argue it, don't resort to name calling. Failing that, feel free to go play WoW. I heard it's very bright and colourful.

You're right, I overreacted to this post

The dark mood is nice, but not when it's the only thing we can look at now shy of turning the camera against the sun every flight.

Good for photos, scenes, atmosphere. Good for certain places or times. Not good for looking at all the time. 90% of the viewing angles now present too much darkness on the ship.

Alright, cool.

There have been quite a few comments about how dark the new models are (it's more so the new shadow engine), so I'm pretty sure CCP have taken it on board. It's more so a case of balancing the realism aspect - check out the 'lit' side of your ship - without making the contrast too insane. I personally feel the best solution would be decreasing the contrast in the shadowed areas a little and not touching the skins at all - the stations are showing the same degree of contrast.

For the record, I've actually got no real issue with it; I think the little 'blip' lights on the hulls are a good indication of where what elements of the hull are located. Maybe if CCP made said 'blips' brighter (and have each pulse of the lights light up part of the darkened side of the hull) everyone will be happy?
