Here's how it works. You want to be a Goon, the following applies:

(1) Go to work during the day, come home and log in to Eve to start work again.
(2) Do whatever someone tells you to do in this internet spaceships game.
(3) Fly whatever someone tells you to fly in this internet spaceships game.
(4) Sit around waiting for someone to tell you to do something in this internet spaceships game.
(5) Be a massive douche to everyone else telling them how you're playing the video game "correctly".

If you truly believe this is how it is then I pity you.

5 is something some people do, it's not a requirement for joining goons.
The rest is nonsense.

This is where I always go wrong.

But now they're asking you to fly Megathrons.

It surely is. At least every Goon I've ever spoken to on TS has been a sanctimonious ****.

High Sec has looked upon this war long enough. Kill Jita 2.0 will come and noone in High Ses will care about all the loses. I agree that High Sec are Carebears. But the money and the Power is in High Sec. They just don't know it.
One hughe Highsec Alliance would destroy everything in Low.

(4) If a Goon tries to stop you, spoil his fun by going off to do something else.
(5) Don't be a massive douche telling everyone else how to play the game.

There are good reasons why people don't join major blocks like Goons. Those that do, see point (5).

1-whenever I can, having a life/job and a family is still not a problem for me after 2 years

2-indeed I can and no one will tell me not to, I will get some form of reimbursement if my ship goes booum, if I want full SRP then I bring fleet fits and ships, I see no problem here but options so where's the problem?

3-I do, but why would you join a large group to play solo or not willing to put some effort? - common sense someone??

4-no need for this kind of childish behavior see point 3, and if he tries harder I can kill it and mock him in local then tell Vile Rat, no one will give a rats ass about.

5-It's part of the game word-ganking other players when you outnumber them and run for your life when it goes wrong for you, that's how it works for everyone in null and everyone plays that game

Your final comment is based on false assumptions or exceptional behaviors that always happen and exist in whatever large group of players.

5 is something people keep repeating, but most don't actually understand what's behind this.
Not actually talking about the goons, they are just a good example.

It pretty much boils down to those who accept the reality of the game and its possibilities
and those that don't. Some ignore them, some deny them, some just need to be woken up.
I have met people from these three groups, so far.

There are people ignoring the possibilities of the game, believing that sandbox means they can play however they want,
but that's proven to be bullshit. These people ignore that their actions have consequences and that others have the ability to
deny them their playstyle completely, showing that one *can't* just simply play however he wants.

It's a law of nature, i guess.

Like that guy who ran a big mouth, got wardecced because of it and then had to realise
that he can not just act/behave/play however he wants, because he'll get his ass kicked for that.
This is a great experience actually, because it teaches that life has consequences.
They either learn that they play as ant and stay humble, or grow above that and gain strength.

There are indeed groups that see a bigger extent of the possibilities and the goons are one of them.
Of course they have a leader who gives them direction,
but the state of mind spreads throughout the group.

It's a game. Do whatever you want, but willfully include others and accept that there
are social laws that dictate your amount of freedom.

The New Order is another group.
Do whatever you want, but willfully include others. (= tank your barge, don't be afk)
Victims ignore social laws and get punished for that.

Some people like to ignore the fact that might makes right
and those are also the people who whine about being forced into something,
simply showing that they play the game the "wrong" way.

Yes, now i went there and it's completely true. Play however you want,
within the degree of freedom others allow you to play. If you believe
you have any rights in this game, that go beyond everybody else,
then you're wrong. (delusional?)

Those who believe that playstyles are forced onto them ignore the fact
that those who realize they can have influence *will* have influence,
because that's the reality of the game.

I don't force my playstyle onto afk people when i blow them up.
It's ridiculous to believe something like that. If you think somebody forces you,
you don't understand that your reality is connected with everybody elses
and that you are only allowed to play the way you want, as long as others approve of it.

If you behave stupidly, you will get punished for it.

Most people i have encountered understood a reallife equivalent.
If you walk around through the bronx in an expensive armani suit
wearing a golden rolex, you will get killed. That's Eve.

To come to an end...

The right way to play is not set in stone,
but when people ignore the reality of the game,
their playstyle is "wrong" regarding how the game works.

The end. Flame away, ignorant masses....

frankly, if EVE doesn't inspire you to read Machiavelli and Sun Tzu, you're not really playing the game.

I just don't see any ~great highsec alliance~ working out because most of them hate the idea of playing by somebody else's rules, so they'll have stupid ideas like "democracy" and "high councils" implemented, not realizing why successful 0.0 alliances are autocracies

Yes, this is a problem. Democracies take a lot of RL time to manage. And they only work up to a group of maybe 20 people. Once it gets past the "everybody knows everybody else" size, you pretty much have to ditch decision by consultation and consensus.

Does this alliance have more assets than TEST to steal?

Yeah, even the GSF directorate has some 60 members and we don't even pretend to be a "legislative body." We all have our own purviews. Democracy in any form is simply incompatible with what is essentially a military organization, i.e. every alliance in the game that is even remotely of any consequence.

Doesn't razor or FA do something like that

Read Niccolo Machiavelli. He was the best politic strategist of his time. The Mittani doesn't only sound like him in his "Updates"
But he follows his Laws step by step.

If you want to know what the Mittani does next go ahead read Machiavellis Books and Statements.
Meta is his second Name. He was the best Strategic, Political and Millitary Mind of his time.
The Mittani not only follows his Words about Metapolitics but , if you listen to the updates he uses the exact same Words.

And they work. The Mittani is no genious of some Kind. He just uses Machiavellian theorie in a Game.
I heavily suggest every Leader of a major Faction, Alliance or Corp to read those Books.

Learn those strategies and give your Thinktank time to counter it. If you don't have a Thinktank !!! Create one. !!!

I'm just a newbie but i wonder why noone has seen those obvious analogies?....-

Weird......well have fun and fly save.

I've fought against goons since my very 1st day stepping into null sec (hell, even before that, when i was there at the start of faction warfare, goons would come in and shoot both sides lol). I still laugh when I tell people " yep, Goons and TEST were tight, thicker than thieves, then I joined test and BLAM, 2 weeks later, goons and TEST are shooting at each other :) ". So my anti-goon credentials are well verified.

And i still don't see why people like this Caesarion Prime feel the need to Ride Mitten's jock every chance they get.

I showed Mittens what I thought of him and his Goons every chance I could...by SHOOTING at them with bullets, repeatedly, while flying ships named "John Birch Society" and "Real Men Vote Republican" (lol). I'm willing to bet that 80% of the people who post goon hate threads on GD don't have a single goon kill on any killboard anywhere.

You don't have to read Machiavelli to beat Mittens and co, you have to SHOOT at them and pry enough carebears from their high sec isk fountainsTeets long enough to also shoot at them. That's how it's done, son.

It is with that attitude.

I remember being in Atlas when we were told that Red alliance would NEVER lose C-J6 and Insmother.

I remember being in Raiden when we were told the Northern Coalition was so powerful no one could kill it, not even the Russians.

I will remember this thread when Goons fall. I will also remember how these forum sniper had no part in Goon's demise.

Forum snipers don't usually accomplish much.

I note that you won't be remembering being in N3 and being told that your coalition exists to destroy GSF.
