Posting in a nerf AFK Liking thread.... I think.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

It's common knowledge that if a vet with many likes posts against a newbie with few likes, the vet comes away victorious 9 times out of 10. Many say that the newbie can bring more newbie friends to drown out the vet or find vet friends to guide them in making better content but that hardly addresses the problem at hand.

We must work together to bring attention to this issue and fix it.

posting in a stealth "let me buy SP" thread

I'm relatively new regarding reading the forums and enjoyed it at first. Then I started noticing that all the forum vets had alot more likes than us newbies. I've tried like whoring as much as I can but there seems to be this 'like wall' I can not penetrate. I've decided to push through but alot of my friends who started forums with me have stopped because of this issue.

What is CCP going to do to bridge this 'like gap' between newbies and vet?

Interesting how this person received more likes on this thread than any of his others combined. Coincidence..I think not...

There are three things you say to the police. "Yes, sir", "No, sir" and "I want a lawyer". There is one thing you say to Concord, "Wait, it wasn-"

This is an extremely serious matter than the CSM takes very seriously indeed.

I think that there is a good argument to be made for a "PLEX for Likes" system, but I think this forum PLEX system should mirror the in-game system: rather than buy likes for PLEX directly from CCP they should be sourced from other players.

Furthermore: In order to prevent the inevitable uncontrollable Like inflation that will inevitably occur, CCP should limit the number of likes that can be gained or granted by any single account. However, I recognise that some players will want to take the risk of losing some of their likes in order for the chance to gain larger numbers by skillfull forum diplomacy or even just good posting.

Therefore I propose that the sub forums be categorised in to "hi-sec" "lo-sec" and "0.0" forums as follows.

In the hi-sec forums (eg: New Citizens Q&A, EVE Information Centre) , you will be able to receive and donate a maximum of 10 likes per account

In lo-sec forums (eg: Crime & punishment, Ships & Fittings) you will be able to receive or donate a maximum of 20 likes per account, but you can also spend one of your likes to remove a like from a post from another player. However you can only spend 1 like per day this way against any one player.

In 0.0 forums (eg: COAD, Market Discussion), the maximum is 50 receive/donates per account, and there is no restriction on how you can use your likes to remove likes by other players.

@Malcanis Have you considered an "Aurum for likes" program? You could have a whole range of "designer likes", people will pay through the nose for a nice set of "likes".... Cool

And what it is this "better content"? Nerfing cloaks? Buffing CONCORD? huh?. There is a reason that some players has many likes. And surprisingly, not all of them are vets . Good post constantly receiving likes no matter if the OP has 50.000 likes or 5.

Exactly. It's a known fact that people with high-value Aurum store items tend to have a large number of Likes. What's not known is whether they get more Likes because of their bling, or whether they buy bling because of their large number of Likes.

Also, statistics show that people with boring jobs tend to have more Likes than those with interesting jobs. Possibly because they're the most hardcore forums posters.

I recommend you contact Erotica 1 and have your likes doubled.

Although I have to admit that "Aurum" triggers an instinctive negative reaction in me, it's difficult to see why a currency specifically intended to purchase "vanity" items should not be used for Likes.

And tbh it might finally provide a viable use for all those free AUR that were given away. At least other people can see ones likes.
