I am wondering about how many characters a typical wh planet can support doing pi so that the resource level will remain constant and not deplete. Any ideas on how to manage character pi for a corp?

Speaking from personal experience here.

My 12 characters doing PI on a 5 day cycle making almost exactly the same thing across all 60 planets would reduce the output to a non usable level on the Gas Planets.

All planets would reduce based on continual use with just 1 character. You would need to adjust your extractor head locations a bit. It never got to a totally unusable level on those other planets.

But the key IMO is if the planet was light green on a resource before you started to extract it didn’t have much to begin with.

Also, the bigger the planet the less concentrated the resources are, big deal with gas planets.

The best way IMO to deal with planetary depletion is to reduce your cycle days, and try and make sure everyone in the corp is doing something a little different.

If you can’t do that, and you want to do 24 hour cycles with factory planets… (most profitable) you are just going to have to get used to constructing and deconstructing your PI infrastructure.

I do not understand why I have to get used to constructing and deconstructing PI infrastructure,Does it make a better output? Could I just move my extractor to make a same effect?

If you have enough powergrid to do it sure you can, most people though do not (heck I run a ton of it, and I can't move my extractor heads very far without hitting the power limit, even on tiny sized planets (my fits are that tight).

Everybody has there own process on how it works, some mass suck out planetary stuff, killing sections at a time, others slow take out an amount from an area to give it time to recover, etc.

You can cram a good amount of characters on a planet though. I would not worry unless your running like 20 accounts at once.

I would take a rough (very rough) guess that a planet can run 20 to 40 people on it at safe levels as long as someone is not mass strip mining P0. Obviously the less people on it, the better the planet will be.

Yaay!!!!

Yes, but you are pulling off so much at a time, simply moving the extractor won't help you in the long term. Red/white dots turn to green. You output is reduced to less than half.

On a extractor planet you are running typically 2 or 3 extractor units... each one running 10 extractor pads. Stuff vanishes fast!
