If it wasn't for these shades you'd see my eyes welling up with tears at the tragedy of the pixels that were killed to produce this thread......it's just that bad.

Don't ban me, bro!

You know, it's more likely that that's due to some odd Cordyceps-like affliction than being a result of this thread. Then again, in comparison, that's probably the better thing to get hit by.

No such thing as better, EVE is quote unquote balanced. Do you mean "more suited for the purpose of catching pods"? Blink

Oh, and, OP? I want my brain cells back.

That's what “better” always means in EVE…

Which, hey, happens to be a battleship.

I have actually no idea how to fit a good smartbombing battleship.

Yeah, I think that rather disqualifies it as “suitable” and moves it more into the area of “fun but impractical”. P

Scenario your camping a bubbled gate, bubbled with 60+ bubbles covering the full grid.

You kill a guy jumping through in his Drake. boom (8 second lock time)

The guy's pod is effectively dead already... but CCP forces you to go through a 32 second lock time to get his pod.

Waste of gameplay and really not helping anyone.
Good point! Make EVE better for pod pilots, and give pods interdiction nullification.

This makes me wonder.

How long does it take an instacane to lock a pod?

Also, is there a cap for how long it takes? We know that the granularity for anything in Eve is 1 second, but the longest lock time I have seen for say a case where a gimped BC (having a cloak) takes 30 seconds to lock a drone, could there be a longer lock time?

The OP has 60 theoretical bubbles up, which means about the only way he won't lock the pod from a battleship is if the owner immediately started burning back to the gate *before* losing their ship. In which case, they shouldn't lose their ship to a solo bs in the first place.

Anyway, who care? Even if your BS locks the pod, you will miss him most of the time and then he will laugh at you, bumb your BS into the sun and you will die.

Instalock Artillery Thrasher for the win. <--takes about 1-2 seconds to lock.
