I've scanned the forums, and don't see anyone having a similar non-patch-related issue.
For at least the last week or more, I've had intermittent connection issues.

When I first go to connect, it fails. Pops up the "Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."

My internet connection is stable and good. I can browse here, for example.
It's not the connection.

This first time I'll occasionally get Server: Unknown, Status: Unknown.

After the first fail, I'll usually be able to see the server (Tranquility) and often the number of players, but I'll get 'connection failed' usually 1-3 more times, before it finally connects.

Once the game is playing, it's totally stable.

Any advice how I could just log in and connect right away?

The first 2-3 weeks I played, it connected IMMEDIATELY, no issues.
2 other people playing on my internal lan have no problem connecting on their systems.

EDIT: and i do check, the server is up.

I've been having this same issue the past week as well. Been trying to reconnect for roughly half an hour without any luck.

Funnily enough, another person on my LAN gets connected immediately without any problems.

Although it is nice to know it's not just me, I would imagine that you'll both agree that the consolation of "others having the same problem" isn't nearly as nice as a reply/dev/workaround. :/

Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong, then started working. Did this to me LAST NIGHT, then started working ok. Doing it again today.......

anybody found a fix???

seems to have been happening for ages - posts go back to 2012!

Here's a kicker: it happens on one system on my LAN, but not the other 3.
All the exact same config.
The 3 that are ok are laptops, my desktop is the only one that persistently has this issue.

None of the others has it at all.

Working again.. I have had success twice with this method.

run the repair.exe file
launch eve client launcher
top right hand corner is settings (looks like a cog)
go to cache
delete cache (i didnt delete password option)
say yes to relaunching client launcher.
BOOM!

i hope this works for you if not i just got lucky

I have followed this work around but i am afraid i am still unable to connect to the servers.
The game was working fine for me as well until a couple of days ago but now although the launcher says that the Tranquility server is up when i hit the play button i just get 'Establish Connection to server' and then an error box saying that either the port is wrong, my internet is down or the server address is incorrect.

I have checked what i can but am not sure what more I can do.
