Claymore is totally screwed with the new fittings.

I took my old fitted Claymore, with 3 links, and 5 T2 220's, 3 LSE's, 2 invulns, 1 MwD, 3 T2 gyro's, and a T2 DC, and had to gut it.

OK, CCP wants to wreck the DPS and make it a missile boat. Fine.
So I end up fitting 4 T2 HAM's, 3 links, same mid slots, and then tried 3 T2 BCU's, and a DC II.

Not enough CPU, not even close to enough.
About 70 short.

CCP, you want to make this into a missile boat, at least give it enough CPU that it handle the fit of a missile boat.
Why give it all these HAM and Heavy Missile bonuses, when it is way way off on CPU.
A T2 BCU needs 40 CPU, and this boat can't even fit the damage mod's that a missile boat needs.

And I have only T1 warfare links on it.
If I switch to T2's, that eats up another 15 CPU that the ship does not have.

You might want to post in the command ship thread. As that is where they asked for the feedback.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Dude a 3 link ship is not supposed to be a DPS boat, its a trade off DPS or links, the only one that can get away with both and a decent tank is the EOS

I don't understand.

Why can't I fit everything I want? Are you telling me there are tradeoffs involved? Sad

Just take an EOS.

EOS can easily reach:
-130k EHP
-1200 dps active tank (average resist 86%)
-740 dps

Yes, all at the same time, with cap booster and mwd. You only need some guy in space in system.

CCP is in a "we love Gallente, we hate shield and missiles" phase atm, just crosstrain and deal with it.

He did. Fozzie told him to go to meta IV shield expanders and DCU and then it should fit fine even a cheap cpu implant... I guess dinsdale was not happy about the responce.

I have not checked any responses from a dev in the CS thread.
I never expect an actual response from one.

hope this helps even if its not the responce you were looking for:

Just tried fitting one.

Forget it.

Needs about 85 more CPU to fit a shield buffer with 3 command links, 4 HAM's, and 3 T2 BCU's.

Fitting what you want on a ship is intended to take creativity and require tradeoffs.

In your case I advise checking out meta modules. Switching the LSEs and DC to meta 4 and dropping to two BCUs allows your fit to work without any fitting mods or implants, even with T2 links. Add Genolution CA-1 and CA-2s and a 3% cpu implant it works with 3 BCUs.

Yeah, after you tweaked me to his response, I read it.
Basically, " if you want to fit something comparable to what you had before, you need implants or a CPU module, and in fact, thanks to you Dinsdale, I am thinking of nerfing the CPU even further."

If I sacrifice the 3rd BCU and put in a CPU module, I am looking at 35.9 extra CPU at the moment (721.9 total available).
It seems idiotic that a ship that is designed to boost other fleet members and stay alive as long as possible needs a fitting module, or fitting implants.

you can now upgrade to tech II links though right?

Yes, so I lop off 15 of that 35.9 buffer, down to 20.9 CPU left to play with.
If you go with Heavies over HAM's, the CPU left over drops to 5.7 units.

And Fozzie says it has too much CPU....wow.

It's all a nullsec conspiracy, you know.

Serious posting: This is by design. You can be a ~solo pwnmobile~ or provide a full set of command bonuses, but not both at once. Not anymore. This was even fairly explicitly stated in the OP of the Command Ship thread:

Quote:
All the command ships have two unbonused highslots that can be used for two gang links, or as general utility highslots. The tension between the two free highslots and the three simultaneous link role bonus is intentional, giving people options to make tradeoffs. There's one command ship that covers each of the lead weapon systems for their race with Amarr getting a missile boat with a drone subtheme instead of a dedicated droneboat because of Khanid.

Turns out the opportunity for those trade offs extends to fitting as well! And it's hardly just the Claymore - giving it all a once-over, I don't see any Command Ship that can really sport a full combat fit and a full set of links.

Err...you note the part when the troll edited his comments?
Guess what part he added after I replied to his ORGINAL comment, you know the ENTIRE one that added in my rebuke.

don't forget the "we hate matars too, but we don't say directly, we just give replace some ships with missiles boat instead"

Sad

i was a gallente pilot, and switched to matar due to drones being munched by sentries, but since the drone update regarding sentries, i resumed training gallente.
and lucky me, a few weeks later, CCP started screwing the matars, cyclone, cane, now the CS....

We are not talking about a crazy linked Claymore.
Read my original post.

All I want to do is fit the same tank as I did before with the 3 links I did before.

But no matter.

I guess you missed the last few years of Winmatar dominance.... you might consider NOT training specifically for the flavor of the month.

I don't think you are going to find anyone that seriously thinks you should be able to effortlessly outfit any CS to run 3 links, max tank, and max gank simultaneously.
