Quick access to disabling alarms

As it currently is, in order to disable a defense integrity (shields, armor, hull) alarm, you need to go through 4 clicks and about 5-6 seconds. While i fully realize why alarms have an annoying sound associated with them, i don't want to hear the shield integrity alarm, while i'm on an armor tanked setup. Having to readjust the settings when i swap from shield to armor tanked ships and vice versa, is annoying, to say the least.

My proposition is:

Add the ability to click on a defense layer integrity bar that is below the set threshold for its alarm - this will temporarily disable the alarm. Raising the integrity of the defense layer above the threshold will reset the alarm, so it will activate again when the integrity falls down.

In short - a left-click on the integrity bar instantly suppresses the alarm.

Edit: clarification of the idea.

Dude, I think I get what you're saying but clear it up for me would you?

I'm thinking this:

Right-click on the Shield HP bar above Capacitor on the UI > Disable Warning (Enable Warning is greyed out) = No warning will sound no matter how high\low my shields get.

Right-click on the Shield HP bar above Capacitor on the UI > Select from the menu 'Enable Warning' (Disable Warning is greyed out) = Warning will sound at the default level or at pre-disabled level.

EDIT: Obviously the same for Armour and Hull\Structure levels.

I admit i could have explained it better. I've edited it to clarify.

Your idea is good too, sounds as a good thing to have. It makes me think if the menu with the sliders for the alarm threshold could be adapted to the radial menu (activating over the HP bars) - wouldn't be of much use, but would look neat - setting the values in a similar fashion as the default ranges when you activate it over your ship.

I hate the Radial Menu I have to say but anything to turn off those alarms (which ever flavour) would be nice.

RANT:

Options seem to be removed more and more as CCP releases more and more which is infuriating. They say they don't want to tell us how to play the game as it's a sandpit but then they restrict how we set how we play with removing Options for things like:

  • Windows Snap-To Distance
  • Sun is Occluded By Ships
  • Option to remove Gate Jump Sequence\Camera Pan
  • Disable Integrity Alarms

You'll get a +1 from me for this idea.

EDIT: Why not swing my my idea in my signature and see what you think as well Smile

how about using those tab things (forget what they are called) you know the ones that will either hide or show all the module slots and the scanning tools and such on the right and left of the capacitor, add another one which will open up the options for the warning's. so it will open up and then show the same UI as now? or just add a shortcut to enable/ disable the alarm's
