Thought I'd ask here and get some imput on which gun system I should focus on first.

Brief Backround
CNR, Golem, Tengu are what I've missioned in all great ships! missiles maxed + ships maxed

looking to get into some gunnery skills already taking the supports from 4-5 as I type this.

I'm at a point where I want to experience other weapon systems what would you jump into next?

Lazors, hybrids or Projectiles? I seem to be leaning towards the Lazors so far. As I'd work my way towards a Sansha/blood raider mission power house. I try to use the right ship for each mission so far.

Thanks

Paladin, nightmare, and abaddon, are all great ships. And if you want some pvp options in there. Amarr has some amazing hac's, vampire abaddons, and frigates, to boot. You already have pve covered extensively. So I would cringe to think you wanted a rattlesnake Big smile.

Something clever

I'm currently cross-training from Caldari to Minmatar. I have a goal of a Typhoon, and later Amarr for a Nightmare.

I first took all the basic turret skills to 3, so I can use any tech 1 turret, and am currently getting all the turret support skills to 4 (gunnery 5 was required for large turrets, so it is the only one at level 5).

I've been playing around in level 2 missions to get a feel for turrets (doing Sisters of EVE missions to get my Gallente & Minmatar standing out of the gutter too). I started by completing all the level 2 missions, even the toughest one I would later lose a cruiser in, with a destroyer. Learned a lot by doing that, and had a lot of fun, though I've never overheated so much in my EVE life.

I lost a cruiser (Rupture) recently in what I've found to be the toughest level 2 mission (6-8 cruisers in a single group), and I jumped in with short-range autocannons and was shredded. I now use long range artillery, and am learning to cope with tracking. Still learning.

Soon I plan to try some level 3 missions in a cruiser for the added challenge, even though I can already make use of a Hurricane. I'm waiting for that tough level 2 mission to come around again, to see if I've learned enough yet, before moving on to level 3 in a cruiser.

Projectile for PvP awesomeness, many of your skills can cross over to Minmatar ships too.

Hybrid for winter patch awesomeness, and Caldari ships can use Hybrids, too....

Thanks guys, I'll do some more research as well while my gunnery support skills come to 5, not a bad idea at all getting used to the different weapon systems in lower level missions.

Any other imput is welcome if you've trained from missiles to another weapon system would like to hear your thoughts as well or ship suggests to mix up the ship choices while running missions

Yeah for sure it is on the radar, just mixed feelings on it as I have read lots of bad thoughts on the improvements for hybrids, so was thinking on holding off on that training as I already spank the caldari mission ship selection.

Also yes I do have a rattlesnake find it greatly out damaged by my other 3 main ships,

For what it is worth, I had that mission again last evening: Mission of Mercy. I don't think I dropped below 80 percent shield this time, and I was armor tanked.

I was overly cautious and stayed at a further range than I normally would have, so it probably took longer that it should have. That's one of the things that really irks me about turrets: they have far less effective range than missiles!

The second thing that irks me is I don't understand how people can say turrets are better than missiles when there are misses, and damage seems to vary so widely ::shrug::

Oh well, on to level 3 missions in the cruiser when I get my next storyline (5 more missions).

yeah missiles are amazing for missions, I think many like the instant damage for turrets no delay no wasted shots just have to get the feel for the falloff/optimal I guess. Somethings only experience can teach. Prolly a very good tactic you are using learn from the ground up run lower level missions in the right ships get a feel for your weapon systems.
