Why are caldari ships so small ?

This is the story of two ships

One is 1550 meter long
The other is 1025

One is 500 meter of sig radius
The other is 380

One has 89m/s of max velocity
the other has 113m/s

One has more structure than the other.

So, tell me why a smaller ship has a higher sig radius, a smaller speed, and more structure points ?

I thought that small meant quicker, smaller energy emissions, and less structure points... No ?

Obviously we can't change their stats, but I ask for a resize ! Because you know what.. Size matters ! Twisted

Which one weighs more, a pound of bricks or a pound of feathers?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

sig rating has nothing to do with physical size of the ship.

Think of todays modern stealth bomber. Big plane, but on radar it will appear like a medium pack of birds.

And here I was just going to say "quit belly aching", but this does it so much better. Have a like.

Yeah.. The apoc must use some kind of camouflage...

Not like if he was using hyperwave-based weapons huh ? Big smile

It has a higher signature radius, because it emits more things(signals/energy/particles), so it's easier for targeting systems to detect, lock on to and track. It has smaller speed because it has less powerful engines fitted. It has more structure points because the structure is constructed in a more durable way.

Bricks do, feathers are quite expensive.

The real question is "Why are Caldari ships so ugly?"

Sorry, what do amarr use as a weapon system ?

Also, don't you think that powerfull engines means more emissions ?

yep, signature radius is the electronic footprint of the ship.

...would be kind of neat if ships had the ability to temporarily 'go dark' to reduce said footprint, of course that would lead to all sorts of new and tear worthy methods of play I'm sure.

You're not locking on to their weapon system.

Nah. Especially not in the energy band used by radios, active graviton sensors, and shield emitters.

Caldari ships are shield tankers, so naturally their hulls don't have to be as big to support all that Armor plating or extra hull bulkheads compared to Amarr or Gallente ships.

But what about the minmatar ships? Well, those only look slightly bigger and bulkier, but that is due to all that extra scaffolding that was left on the ship when it left the shipyard. Minmatar engineers looked at the ship when it was being assembled, and simply ordered the welders to weld the scaffolding to the hull. It may look ugly, but think of all the time it saves when the ship goes in for maintainence!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

As long as they're not AFK when they go dark, all will be well.

Ok lets compare what makes you more detectable for a second here,

Look at a asteroid with lasers on it shooting out, even towards you, then look at a lava asteroid and tell me even without any lasers how much more you can see it.

That's basically shields for dummy's.

No the quote is. "Which weighs more? A pound of gold or a pound of feathers? And if you dropped them both off of the tallest building in the world, at the same time. Which would land first.
