This is what I believe WiS would be when I first heard about it way way back when.
Except I'd want to be able to stab people in the face too.

because eve is pvp and docking games are tiresome.

Not sure if anyone else agrees with me or not
But I would like if CCP can give us answer to this.
Like will this ever happen?
If yes when?
If no why?

Just curious to know and I'm sure other players are curious to know.

Just to let you know I freaking love this game eve online.
Its the only game I play. I give it 10/10 and it's always improving
Which I feel confident this game will live forever!

Another one? Oh well... Yea, WiS, yes please.

Been seeing a lot of these recently, and oddly, they are 90% supported.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, open the damn door. It's getting to the point now where there isn't much to say in threads like these except "Do it!", ffs.

Walking in ship hangars and admiring the ships from 1st person view would be cool, but even cooler would be custom ship paintjobs and modular POSes.

sure it would be great, but some monkeys here are afraid of human avatars as well as social interaction... we first have to teach them how to walk and talk, it is a hard process but we will get there!

Avatars have absolutely nothing to do with social interaction, which will be done via text chat even with avatars.

Tbh avatars are for guys who lack imagination, and are incapable of immersion without them.

Because the plethora of Avatar based RPGs are for people without imagination. Just confirming that games like Neverwinter Nights (where people created/modded/scripted entire worlds and server with custom lores and completely new story lines with massive player-bases of role-players) are for people who lack imagination. These are the people who spend their time writing mini-novels and writing detailed back stories for their characters. Just to confirm, these people lack imagination.

Sarcasm aside, you could say the same for people who want any new Spaceship content. Just imagine the spaceships are balanced right? You don't need CCP to do any of it.

Tbh MMO's are for guys who lack RL, friends and imagination, and are incapable of immersion without a pre-set game environment.

You pay for internet space ships.

We get get internet spaceships.

but instead you want a players sitting in a "virtual bar".

The only WIS they should implement is the chance for us to invite dust 514 players into our quarters so we can show them fancy space ships & laugh at their tiny tanks.

At this point ANY interaction between dust and eve is something I'm in favour of!

Well, I think the original plan was for EVE Voice to sync with your Avatar. You talk, it's mouth moves... that sort of thing.

And people do the same (write novellas, create their own storylines) in EVE, which has no avatar gameplay whatsoever?

All I'm saying is that 3D avatars are not required in EVE to interact with others, neither do they lead to immersion. I'd argue that it's easier to do IC when you don't have to associate yourself with a pixel person.

(FWIW: Shinjiketo is a RP-lite alliance and I absolutely love the RP aspect to EVE, having IC motives takes the game on a whole new level- I just don't need to see my avatar to achieve that)

Also, I find books more immersive than for example Skyrim at ultra gfx and tons of tweaks- fleshing out the fantasy world in detail does not compare to the vivid experiences created by one's imagination.

This is another nerf AFK cloakers thread isn't it???

Everyone is always repeating the mantra "Don't Trust Anyone" ad nauseum... If I can't trust the guys I play with, why bother playing with them at all? Fly Solo...

Smile Well I guess they need to use one of those voice altering utilities (I have one but never use it).

... either that or rename all of their female characters to variations of "Dr. Girlfriend" (got one of those too). Smile

They have already answered you. The CCP CEO actually apologized for what a terrible idea WiS was and promised to focus on actual Eve content. For the last two years they have done that and the game has done very well.

Real Eve players don't want gross roleplayers infesting our game.

Check your facts. CCP, since then, have repeatedly said they have all intentions of eventually implementing WiS. Also, they never apologised for WiS being a bad idea, they apologised for a lot of short comings but that was not one of them. You can't just spout **** and expect everyone to believe you. If you can find a quote from Hilmar saying "WiS was a terrible idea", then do it and link the source. But you can't, because no such quote exists.

As in all things actions speak louder than words. It's been a long, long time since anything was added to WiS.

CCP knows who pays their bills (hint, it's not furries and roleplayers).
