Should podding be a more note worthy event for the victim?

It is a bit of.....splat....wake up in station.

Can't we have a dramatic cut scene of freezing in space .......with your lungs busting as they freeze solid & a scream of pain as your transformed into a sold block of biological ice....make it suitably gothic & dark. The person doing the podding gets to see what he has done to you........magnificent in all its horrible glory.....especially when it happens to a goon.Twisted

I'm sure it would be cool for a while, but would get old pretty fast for those who loose pods severals times every week.

I also don't think that jumping on Cut Scene right in the middle of a fight would become a huge hit amongst more PVP oriented players. You are supposed to be able to control your ship, not sit there watching cinema...

So:
for the victim, maybe.
for the attacker, definitely not.

I would be quite happy if, on being podded, the screen would abruptly just go completely black for a few seconds, with all sounds and music muted, then faded to station (once it had fully loaded) as you 'wake up'.

Lore wise, the instant before the pod blows, your clone is injected with a deadly neurotoxin and your consciousness is ripped out of it and sent to the new one. The body is dead before the pod goes up, not that it'd survive the explosion long enough to scream anyway.

(Source is that first awful novel they put out.)

If it was, at most, a 5-10 second cut scene (such as the fade-to-black, with a bit of machinery / blood pumping sounds), it wouldn't be much worse then the current session change black screen. Especially if it could be used to mask the session change.

It would be a nice artistic touch, it just needs to be kept as short as possible and not a 3 minute mini-movie.
