At least only your game crashes, my entire system just freezes up, and if I don't force quit EVE fast enough, I have to force restart.

However, this doesn't only happen with Avatars, but any titan in the game.
But, not only do I have the problem, I also have a temporary solution. Everytime you open the game, where you know you have to see a titan (good to do anyways if you think you're going to see one), go to the market, find the Titans and load up the preview and spin it around to get a fast look at it from all sides (better do it with all of them). That fixed it for me. But, that "fix" resets it everytime you quit the game (i.e. D/C)

Blimey, is the mac client this bad? CCP seriously need to sort this out.

I am definitely getting a mac next and need to play EVE.

Multi-account 5 yr player, I need to have my fix now and again and the mac client sounds rubbish.

This issue happened after Odyssey, and since I'm at nullsec war and do a lot of titan bridging, it really gets annoying fast to have to pre-load the model in the market before you can see one in real size.

Sadly, CCP seems to ignore this (CCP, hint, please?)

They may be ignoring it because its not a general issue. Ive never had it. Do you have any idea what fraction of Mac users do have it? Now if you can tell me what to do so I would have this issue, a repeatable method, then it will be much easier for CCP to examine and fix it.
Edit: Have you bug reported it?

No, none of the problems on the Macintosh forums are universal. I've been running the Mac EVE client since it has been available, and it has worked flawlessly since then. I've run it on a variety of hardware types and revisions and have the current client running on machines from 2008, 2009, and 2011.

I agree with the above. The biggest issue I have is one of the freezes that you see talked about in these forums, and that is maybe once per 50 hours of on-line time. Other than that eve works wonderfully on my MacBook Pro.

Mine runs wonderful too, I get no freeze up (except when I have to load missile effects for the first time) when I run single client, dual/tripple client can get messy, but it's doable, except that the individual clients have a chance to freeze at random moments (including in station).
But , since Odyssey, Titans has just freaked my clients out if I don't pre-load them in the previews. It begins to lag, then the entire system freeze for like 5sec, EVE remains frozen. If I don't force quit EVE within about a minute, it tries to reconnect to the graphics card, and the entire systim will freeze up.

I have had no real problems until odyssey, and even then when I redownloaded the 7 gig file and did a fresh install most of those problems went away.

This last patch messed things up for both windows and mac clients. On my roommates windows gaming computer, the sound is wonky. Sometimes its normal, sometimes it sounds like its muted and then suddenly returns to normal full volume, and then sometimes if I alt-tab out in the middle of warp the sound gets stuck in the noisy warp sound even when I dock. I have also had several crashes on the windows desktop.

I ended up with a fresh install on my mac, but havn't bothered with windows version since I don't play on it that often. I would suggest to anyone with problems to do a complete fresh install from the full 7gig file (not the patcher).

I love my Macbook Pro and the OSX series, but I have come to hate the iProducts like iPhone, iPad, etc. So am I considered an "Apple Fanboy" or not?

I had a terrible time running even just 1 client on my MacBook Air. Now I can run 6 on my hackintosh with the same reliability as the Windows client. I agree it doesn't seem to provide a consistent experience.
