New Ice Interdiction

just a heads up all. for those running caldari towers, fuel is going to get stupid expensive. (and its already started in case you haven't looked lately.)

Me too.

Although some have jumped the gun, the real deal does not actually start officially until August 18.

I'm quite happy to profit from the jumping of the gun, though I don't have all that large a pile of nitrogen isotopes unfortunately. Was planning to buy more tomorrow, but guess not.

I'm just happy Helium Iso jumped 200 per unit in Ammatar Big smile

Oxygen Isotopes are climbing as well, though not as much. Should be a fun few weeks.

I still have 6 months of fuel on-hand. I normally keep 6 to 12 months.

It is always good to have extra for times like these.

so you mean every miner who realised the caldari ice interdiction was a given and was just a matter of time?

It was hinted at a few months ago (maybe even 6 months ago) but a little kerfluffle in Fountain got in the way I guess.

i think the give away was that there have been interdictions before, and goons sit on masses of caldari ice. it wasn't a huge leap of faith to assume there would be a caldari ice interdiction at some point.

But considering their greater success was for the initial Gallente Ice Interdiction, it could have swung either way tbh.

if you empty the market of isotopes, i guarantee there will be more caldari isotopes than any other in jita. it makes sense to interdict caldari even before we consider what kind of space goons inhabit.

Good point there. Plus, Caldari Space is so 'tiny'. Amarr is lot more spread out and therefore difficult to strategically manage an operation across its breadth.

indeed, i know for a fact within 2 jumps i can access 5 caldari ice belts. i think those systems will be particularly busy.

should have seen this coming last week. was going to stock up on nitrogen, but saw they were trading at around 750 isk p/u and couldn't figure out why it was higher than all the others. guess the writing was on the wall.

It will be interesting to see what kind of ships get used for the interdiction. The obvious choice is the catalyst, but some people may use coercers instead to punish the people who stack therm/kin resists

surely a better choice would be a thrasher with emp ammo?

i ask that because i'm too lazy to eft any fits.

Good thing I have stockpiled enough nitrogen isotopes to last my POS 4 years, and I was only a casual miner that started saving up when the ice belt change was first announced.

I suspect that most real miners have enough Caldari ice materials hoarded to meet everybody's needs for a long, long time. It's not like there was any kind of a limit on how much could be mined or stored in station before now.

I'll have to check it when I get home. I do remember that EMP ammo has a lot of kinetic damage mixed into it, which is a downer. I also know that the high damage lazer crystals have a lot of heat damage mixed in, so that is a downer too. Either way, neither is a problem that isn't solved by throwing more bodies at the problem.
