Why in the world haven't you fixed emoticons yet

How many people here are even old enough to remember that these emoticons are suppose to be animated? They were animated on the old forums and they were animated for almost a decade. When the new forums came we were promised they would get right on it and fix this tiny issue.

Well It must of been so tiny that everyone just straight up forgot about it.

Personally I don't really consider these new forums complete without this feature.

look at the *rolls eyes* emote everyone is using. It's just a person looking up. It's not someone rolling their eyes... It's the looking up emoticon...

also again with the looking up emotion, what is this. RollRollRollRollRollRollRollRoll it's a face looking up, it makes no sense without animation, think about it. :/

Having watched a reasonable amount of porn on my pc, I have inevitably got a few viruses on there. One of them brings up an advert for a company that make emoticons, and I always think to myself - what sort of cretin uses this crap. . . Now I know.

I actually agree here and was wondering when someone would bring this up again. Does the web team really spend so much time on making each expansion's feature page that they can't fix this? What was wrong with them in the first place that made us lose the animations? The file size seriously couldn't have been that much larger if they were being hosted locally.

I also want image based signatures back.

Cumplecorns were glorious....now it's just a link.

Picture emoticons are bad enough, but animated ones are far, far worse.

Tell you what, if you makes you happy to have little round balls of stupidity rolling around and giving virtual hugs to your screen, that's fine. Go find a browser that supports user styles / javascript and write something up to alter all of the emoticons to the ones of your choosing. Or, use a proxy with some regex magic. http://www.privoxy.org/

CCP Sreegs is my favorite developer.
