I just disagree with you.

"Hate" would imply that I cared.

Suggesting that the Winners and Runners up are "prize hogging" sort of discredits the amount of effort that went into actually reaching that stage in the tournament, further consolation prizes would serve to devalue the finalists prizes and make the whole tournament a little less prestigious. Maybe you could get a "Well done you took participated" sticker or something.

I hope that was constructive enough for your high caliber of discussion.

I also think that 3rd should not get anything unique.

However, getting something would be quite reasonable, especially due to how much it costs to compete and how dominate certain teams are.

Free entrance to next round is obvious.

50 BPCs for faction cruisers or frigates, or LP, (for 3/-8th place) seems quite reasonable.

If you look at most other tournaments out there, there are prizes for the top 8 even, it is just that the prize for 1 (and sometimes 2) is so much greater then prize for 3-8.

If anything, I would suggest greater prizes for 3-8 and a smaller prize for 2.

I apologize for suggesting that you were the prize hogging type. I recognize the awesome amount of skill and effort that went into winning ATXI. That being said, "why not give everyone who watched the stream a prize as well Obama." is not becoming of a member of an alliance that supposedly prides itself on that effort. I actually appreciate that you came back and took the time to write out a more serious post. You should try being constructive more often.

I do like the idea of free entrance to the next tournament, even for first and second place. Certainly the top teams earn it and I'd hope that CCP might consider it.

It seems like it could go either way in terms of viewership. Would knowing that the top teams are automatically in draw more viewers or put some viewers off? For me personally, it means good fights are automatically guaranteed. But for others, maybe it would mean just too much of the same old AT?
