Forking loadouts is on the to-do list, however I'm busy at the moment working on more important stuff (mostly the new stateless new loadout page). I'll try to add something basic after that w.r.t. loadout forks.

Couple more issues:

Love the app now that I'm playing with it more, though. Keep up the good work.

I noticed the first issue as well today. It only happens on hidden loadouts. I was also able to confirm the second issue with the MJD. I'll investigate it tomorrow as well.

Thanks for reporting the issues!

EDIT: both issues are fixed now.

I am making good progress on the new stateless loadout creation page, here's a sneak peek of what will be in the next release…

Any chance of increasing the tag limit on fits? There are a number of tags that could apply to most fits (PvP vs. PvE, shield vs. armor, fleet vs. solo, gun/missile/support, cheap vs. expensive, high-sp vs. low-sp), and 5 tags may not really cover it all. If you end up going with a version tag, that'll put further pressure on. I'm guessing the point of the limit is to prevent the ridiculous add-all-tags thing that some people like to do on BC, but I would think you could safely double the limit.

I've finally decided to not store the version in a tag, because it would make it very difficult to do queries like "get me loadouts for Odyssey 1.0 or newer". (I went with storing the build number, so sorting is easy.) So the tag limit will not be artificially decreased in the future because of that. I get your concern though; in fact proper tag management is very difficult (some tags should be aliased to another, like "long-range" and "snipe", etc.).

Another idea I originally had was to add a special tag (for example "tag-me") to loadouts without tags, and allow users (with enough reputation) to retag loadouts. Unfortunately the whole reputation thing doesn't seem to have taken off yet (are none of the loadouts upvote-worthy? Lol ), so the site is not ready for that yet.

Don't worry, I'll increase the maximum number of tags in the next release.

Version 0.8.0 is out! This is by far the biggest version I ever published since the first release. Here is a partial list of changes:

The full list of changes is available here.

If some things do not display correctly, try clearing your browser cache.

Please give me your feedback, if you think some things can be improved, tell me! If you encounter bugs, please report them. I can't fix bugs until someone tells me about them!

EDIT: Big thanks to Karbowiak for adding Osmium links to zKillboard!

I like it. Some good additions there. I would recommend adding a Targeting panel on the left side of the loadouts to show scan res, targeting range, number of targets.

(Edit: Maybe drone control range would fit in a targeting panel as well?)

(Edit edit: Possible derp moment for me, but how do I edit one of my fits?)

Yeah, I will do it soon when the transition to libdogma is complete. Right now computing a lot of attributes at every action is the bottleneck. (You can still see those attributes by using "Show info" on the ship itself.)

The edit link got moved in the "Meta" tab.

Thanks for the feedback!

When I hit "New loadout" in the top bar, it takes me to the module selection section with no option to choose a ship.

Ships can be picked just like modules now. Use the search or the browser and double-click the ship.

Ah, sneaky! Responsiveness of adding modules seems to have improved in this version.

(Edit: maybe it would be helpful if the dialog that pops up when you double-click the empty ship area (that currently says "No ship is selected. What are you expecting?") mentioned that you can select a ship from the search box on the right.)

Good news, I found (and fixed) the issue that caused most problems on the in-game browser (IGB). Now it looks nice and normal ( http://i.imgur.com/2gwsMDY.png ). Still no fancy gradients because the IGB dosen't support them, but at least the layout is correct.

If it still doesn't work for you, try clearing your IGB cache.

EDIT: the metagroup filters when editing a loadout still do not display correctly. I think the embedded version of Chromium does not support background-position properly. If anyone has a solution, please share!

Expect an update tomorrow. The internal format used for loadouts will change, so if you have any non-saved loadouts (like a loadout you're currently editing), please save them as soon as possible or they will be lost!

I will also probably change the server Osmium is being hosted on, and due to DNS caches the transition will be more or less smooth for people. Look up the server name in the footer. If you see version 0.8.0 running on Golgotha, you are still accessing the old server. You can still access it as usual, but if you do changes (like editing a loadout) expect them to be lost during the transition. If you are seeing version 0.9.0 running on Tetroxide, you're good!

If you're impatient and want to take a look at the new features that are in the new version, take a look at the WIP (or changelog) pages.

EDIT: upgrade complete. If you're still seeing the old version, you just have to wait for your DNS cache to clear up (it can take a couple of days). I have updated the main post.

Here is a TL;DR of the main changes:

  • Big performance improvements, thanks to libdogma.
  • Targeting and warp related attributes are now shown in the attribute sidebar.
  • You can include reload time in DPS, tank and capacitor calculations.
  • You can make custom damage profiles and use them for tank/EHP calculations.
  • Implants and boosters are now supported. You can even choose which booster side-effects to enable.

Please, give me feedback and report any bugs you find! Thanks.

EDIT: to make things easy for you, here's a direct link to join IRC if you want to chat about Osmium with me.

Version 0.9.1 is out. Very minor changes (if you really want to know, check the changelog).

Little bump. I'm worknig hard on the next version, which will have a better main page (here's a preview, beware this is still a WIP), fleet bonuses and (maybe) projected effects.

In the meantime, please report any bugs you find! Oh, and try to show Osmium to your friends!

This is very good! Congrats and thanks!

You know what would by awesome? If it would calculate MASS! Offlining modules, AB/MWD on/off, HIC bubbles etc... What do you say, hm? Blink

Thanks for pointing that out! Mass is one of the three "special" attributes (mass, volume, capacity) that are handled a bit differently internally and they're very easy to overlook. It's all fixed in staging, and it will be in 0.10.
