Temporary med Pos in c3?

Hello fellow pilots. Here is what i'm thinking.

O would like to try to solo run a c3 wh and i'm thinking to set up a med pos in one for a while, few weks to see how it works, and if it works well to upgrade to a large one.

Now my questions are:
1. What static should i chose to be the safest?
2. Can i last few weeks with a med Pos?

Now, i want to thank you in advance for your feedback.

Nullsec static is safest, although you may have trouble getting your stuff out again if you are unlucky with random connections. I'd go with lowsec static.

Med POS should be fine... in fact, a small is enough. Put some ECMs on it and with 99% probability nobody will bother messing with it. Unless you let a large collection of T3s and pirate battleships float in the forcefield.

I will have very few ships actually. A tengu for anoms, noctis, Scanner and transport ship, prolly orca. Ship maintenence array not really needed right?

Lowsec static is very dangerous, eventually you'll get a static connection to a factional warfare system and then dozens of people are going to swarm through and try to kill you. If someone comes in with a cloaky Proteus you're going to die, there's no way to spot him until he uncloaks on top of you.

Anything is dangerous in wh. My main concern is about the medium tower. I wouldnt want to invest in a large one from the start, because it might not enjoy or would not get enough profit of it. Nullsec sounds the best, wouldnt want a transit wh.... even though a c2 static would be awesome.

You don't want C2 static. These are prolly the most inhabited systems and there are some rather large entities there.

Med pos should be fine. Effort to take down a med vs small is sufficiently large enough to make people work for it hard enough to make it more than an easy kill.

Thanks for the feedback again.

Now another matter:

- Which tower would be able to provide the best defence, since i will not have to much stuff there i want to be the less attractive to pos poppers as posible.

be sure to have alts that are logged out in covert ops so if your main gets evicted you have a path back in. Log out in a safe spot no the pos.

This thread is relevant to my interests. In particular, I would like to know which type of medium tower is the most annoying to take down. Is the Caldari ECM bonus worth it? Or should I just go Minmatar and spam small Autocannon turrets?

In a previous life I did this. Lived solo in a C3 for a few weeks, it was quite fun, lonely sometimes, but fun.

I inhabited a c3 with a low sec static. Heres a few suggestions.

1.) Have at least 1 alt, who can fly a blockade runner
2.) Make sure that alt can scan decently. Getting ganked is a part of WH life, and you will need to be able to get back in.
3.) Stockpile the fuel, I would carry at least 2 months worth, you never know when you will be getting a good run to Hi Sec.
4.) Have plenty of defence modules on you POS, even offline ones, as you can online them during an attack when needed.
5.) Make use of the PI available to you, any income is good income, and WH planets are as good as Nullsec ones.
6.) Scan you system for new sigs everytime you log on.
7.) DSCAN is your local, fail to watch this, and expect to be ganked. Even if you do watch it, be prepared for ganks to happen.
8.) wormhol.es , great website for gaining info on wormhole systems.

Good Luck in your adventures

My choice would be Caldari with lots of ECM. The bigger a PITA it looks to knock over the lower the likelihood that it'll happen. Do not put missile/cruise/torp batteries on that thing. Ever. Go with small/medium laser turrets or autocannons (I prefer laser turrets as they don't require CPU if the tower is reinforced so can keep shooting.

But ECM first. Lasers second.

Good luck. WH life is quite fun.

Caldari is your best bet, a medium should be fine. and I would also agree witht he ST null suggestions. If your looking to be left alone and run sites in peace thats your best bet, but always remember nothing will be too safe. people from nullsec dont know how to jump through WHs so youll be ok.

ecm batteries will save you from most people. anyone who really wants to take out your tower will beat any defence anyways and probably knows how to bypass ECM batteries. as long as your tower doesnt look like a floating treasure chest its unlikely anyones going to bother with you.

I lived in a C3 with static low in a true sansha mid tower. NEVER had a problem.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.
