Well last night was both fun and disappointing in the pvp arena. I logged in and our friend and Bull's lover Cal 7 was 2 jumps away in Hemin in his Curse picking a fight with a four man gang which included a Rapier, thrasher, stabbed fleet issue and a vagabond. Although he probably could have taken them by himself, he asked if we wanted to help. A couple of us jumped into some ships and we smoked the bad guys sending them home in pods. Then Cal, Cy and myself went in a small roam to G-O Cy and myself in Nados and Cal in a Rapier. We got into a little more than we could handle when the bad guys brought in a Hyperion, 2 talos and a rupture. Needless to say that's a lot of firepower, but I got my ship out safely. We had a fruitless gate camp, just nothing was traveling. I think Mel and the boys have made K-Q a no fly zone they are so efficient killing intruders. Mel's been averaging over 200 kills a month mainly just camping K-Q. The man knows what he is doing. Well after a while Pleniers took out a small roam, there were 6 of us, 3 harpies, jaguar, thrasher and scythe. This is where my luck went downhill a little. I had a RL issue and had to go afk for a couple of minutes. When I get back Pleniers has a CNR tackled and three drakes helping the CNR fight the group off. It was to no avail. Just as I land on grid the CNR pops and we loose the thrasher. We finished off the three drakes and headed back home. As usual I missed out on the juiciest kill. We had just killed 3 drakes and a CNR for the lose of a thrasher, not a bad trade off there.

Most of the year last year my preferred Cruiser was the Stabber Fleet Issue; they were cheap, versatile, and quite fun to fly. But for every misguided change like the SFI agility Nerf, and the slight gutting of the Tracking Enhancer the SFI is only 90% of its former self. Luckily for me, CCP decided to introduce the Scythe Fleet Issue. The Scythe is Faster, has more shields, and does more damage than the Stabber Fleet Issue.

This weekend I managed to get a few really nice with my Scythe Fleet Issue. Although Cal7 gave me a really good build for it, I decided that I would put my own spin on it. I may have a few less shield hit points but my build is cap stable at 3k, and does almost 400 DPS. The Scythe is incredibly versatile it has the shields of a Cynabal, the speed of a Cynabal and almost as much DPS as the Cynabal. But at 1/5 the price; It is my new favorite ship.

Our FC picked out Immensea; I was scouting since I have been pretty good at scanning down ships in anomalies. I had scouted two Dominix’s but when we landed we were thwarted by their micro jump drives. On the next system, I warped to an anomaly with a Retriever, the gang was two jumps back and I called them in figuring that we may get an escalation. I held my tackle until a Tengu warped in, I took my point off the Retriever and busted ass to the Tengu getting the tackle.

I waited, waited, waited, waited but I died before I could get repaired or a secondary point placed on the Tengu. Both the Retriever and the Tengu warped off and here I was like an idiot in my pod. Even though I was a bit pisse…upse…mildly perturbed. I went back and picked up my Scythe Fleet Issue. I figured that it was fast enough that I could get back to the fleet in 15 minutes or so.

While meandering back to the fleet from my death walk of shame; the gang they had already killed a Dominix and a Drake. Now I was really upset; I missed a total of six kills now. I finally caught up to our gang: Caracal x2, Rupture, Scythe Fleet Issue, Stabber and Scythe x2. It wasn’t long before our FC located a new group, but they were running a bit heavier than us. The enemy fleet had: Vagabond, Falcon, Talos x2, Tornado, Caracal.

We jumped into them, counted to three and warped to the outbound gate and jumped. We figured that would be the best way to take the Falcon out of the fight and allow us to focus on their DPS ships. While in warp, the order was given to switch to EM damage. Our game plan was simple, knock the living crap out of the first Talos that decloaked, and then go after the second Talos, and the Tornado. If the Falcon showed his face we would put the drones on him to make him warp.

For some reason one of our Scythes were out of range and didn’t manage to get reps on the other Sythe in time and our Scythe was the first ship on either side to go down. Even though we had lost one of our two Logi’s, things started to turn our way as we vaporized the first Talos, we then turned onto the second Talos but he jumped out with 40% armor so we switched to the Tornado. Boom goes the Tornado.

The second Talos came back in and although the Falcon managed to jam a few of us, we smoked the second Talos with little issue. The Falcon jammed our tackling caracal and warped off along with the Vaga and Caracal. Thinking the fight was over; we were very shocked when Vagabond warped in 70K from me. I switched to Scourge and had him tackled when the Falcon decloaked and jammed me. I burned out of the Vagabonds range while Cy and Neela tackled and finished off the Falcon.

With the Falcon out of the fight I overheated and approached the Vagabond. I hit approach and the Vagabond started to overheat away from me. The Vagabond didn’t know it but not only did I have Loki Bonuses, I had shield bonuses AND was cap stable. I overheated my mids and got the tackle. The Vagabond was single Nano fit and although he was fast…I was faster. Not only was I faster I was twice as fast…something that I am sure he didn’t expect.

As the Vagabond went down the enemy Caracal landed on top of us, he died as well.

Home Sweet Home

I liken K-QWHE to a local tourist attraction, think of it as our Big Ben, Parliament or Eifel tower. When there is no activity anywhere else in Curse our beloved home system glows with activity. Whether it is Mellivora and Andrews’s daily K-Q WHE lockdown, Juddah’s constant harassment of Epic Arc runners, or the multitude of random roaming gangs stopping in to say hello; K-QWHE is the place to be.

While it is generally known that I tend to not participate in the gate camping aspect of K-QWHE it is common knowledge that the camping generates some really great fights. Yesterday was one of those really GREAT K-QWHE days; we killed EVERYTHING. We had been mauling every single ship that had come through the RMOC and CL-85 gate most of the day. Up until this point there had been no large fleets, just a few nullified Tengus and Covert Ops.

Fight 1:
The Gorgon Empire had a small fleet consisting of 2 Talos, 1 Caracal Navy Issue and 2 Scythes. They knew we weren’t going to let them enter without a fight so they called backup. From the other direction they brought in additional Scythe, Manticore, Brutix, Thorax, Rapier plus a few other random ships. We shipped up to: Harbinger, Cane, Cyclone, Ferox, Merlin, Harpy, Kitsune, Scythe Fleet and Incursus. We were outgunned but we didn’t care.

The Gorgon Fleet failed to jump their Scythes in in time and within seconds we killed their first Talos. Since the second target was still being determined I killed their Manticore. The Thorax was the next tackle called so but Scythe 1 was primary…he was forced to run back to gate. We got the second Scythe tackled but they BLOPS dropped in Widow on us jamming our tackler, so we focused fire on the Thorax whom was still tackled.

Although a few of us were jammed Lord Rapture managed to tackle the second Talos and someone else called web/scram on the Brutix. We popped both and turned to the Widow. The widow micro jumped out of range and exited the fight permanently. By this time we had all of their DPS off the field as well as their Electronic Warfare ships. They only had the Scythe and Rapier left on the field that we managed to tackle with the help of some massively awesome gang bonuses. Out gunned and out ECM’d…we still won. Hats off to Gorgon for fighting.

Fight 2:
New Eden industries came through Hemin toward us with a gang of 24. They had 3 Oracles, Talos’s, Drake’s, Ferox’s, plus a bevy of random cruisers, light tackle and such. It was a formidable gang that numbered almost twice what we had active. I could give you the exact ship count but they failed to kill a single one of us so I am going from memory. : )

Our gang comprised of: Cyclone x2, Hurricane, Harbinger, Drake, 2 Ferox, Brutix, Merlin, Harpy, and 2 Scythes and an Osprey. We knew that they had more than us, but we were hoping our Logi would arrive in time to negate their overwhelming numbers advantage. They jumped in but held cloak…the first thing to decloak was a Cormorant (I know right?). We called an Oracle primary next and then their second Oracle.

They called our beloved Reemos’s ASB Cyclone primary and he went into armor fast. All of our Logi overheated trying to keep up with the DPS but Reemos was now in DEEP DEEP structure. As our gang killed their Talos next we realized that not only was Reemos still alive, he was full shields and still fighting. We killed their Oracle, then their Huginn, then their Ferox next. The rest of their ships warped off. Reemos survived in 13% structure. Once again, zero losses. GF goes out to New Eden Industrie Alliance.

Fight 3:
Later that night the wormhole corp. Transmission Lost was playing around in our home system as well as our adjacent AAM. They had 2 Talos, Tornado, a Stabber Fleet, Retribution and Slicer that we knew of. We were limited on numbers (4), but had Armor Bonuses up in local so we decided to go with two Vexors and two Augorors. Our plan was to warp the Vexors to gate at 100, aggress and warp back to the station hopefully they would follow thinking that we were still allowing us to hide our Augorors.

They didn’t take the bait…we tried a few different things but they wanted to fight on the AAM gate. About that time I send a ping to a few of the guys in other TS channels prompting them to log in their toons. Now we had 3 Vexors, 1 Navy Vexor, 2 Augorors, and every bonus imaginable. We now had enough to fight, and probably enough to win. We sent all four of the Vexors to the gate and waited for them to take the bait.

We knew that they would probably go for the Vexor Navy first, so he was ordered not to aggress knowing that he could jump out and come back to the fight. It would at least buy us enough time to get the Augorors from the station to the AAM gate (5 au). Everything was going according to plan, they attacked our Navy Vexor and we proceeded to kill the first Talos. THEN something happened that we hadn’t expected. They jumped in a Blackbird and uncloaked a Falcon (A big woops on our part)

Although my Augoror was jammed for one cycle, Cy’s Augoror was still performing just fine. We reestablished the cap chain and together we managed to repair the Vexors to full Armor. The FC called for all drones to be sent to their Falcon running him off the field. The rest of the guys managed to hold tackle on the remaining Talos, and Tornado even WITH the blackbird on field.

With the Falcon off the field, things got easier. The FC called for the Tornado next, then the Talos killing them in quick succession. We turned to the Blackbird and their fast tackle left. 4 Kills zero losses.

Blobskied???
A4D is a small corporation comprising of 80 members and about half of those are alts…so yes. We have 40-50 active members that create daily carnage. Most of our gangs are under 10 and when all the stars align I have seen 22 A4D members in a gang at one time. I liken A4D to a bunch of pack hunting Velociraptor. We typically fly fast, we fly in gangs, and we fly to win.

Bright side of Death came in to K-QWHE to see if they could get a fight. We weren’t overly active but we managed to scrounge together 4 members plus our old friend Cal 7 who is in Curse on Vacation. Cal undocked his Machariel for bait and warped it to 70 from the CL-85V gate where an enemy Bright Side of Death Tengu was sitting.

With bonuses Cal managed to point and neutralize the Tech 3 cruiser while easily keeping up with the smaller ship until we could call secondary point. At this point BSOD warped in a Talos, Falcon, and two frigates. We had the Machariel, 2 Scythe Fleet Issues, Hurricane and a Scythe. The 5 on 5 melee ensued. Cal 7 was starting to cap out, but our Scythe Fleets were now in the Fray and keeping pace.

The BSOD Falcon jammed out one of our Scythes then the other just as Cal regained enough cap to reacquire the point the 100MN Fitted Tengu. Reemos’s realized he was too slow to help fight the Tengu but he was more than fast enough to exchange blows with the Talos. They exchanged blows until the Talos succumbed to the Hurricane. We killed the Tengu shortly after

Technically there were two neutrals wh0ring on mails but they could have just as easily been on the side of BSOD. Of course the BSOD guys cried foul in local…it took us a while to figure out why they think we blobbed considering technically we had less A4D than BSOD. But with Cal and the two neuts, we did have a 7-5 number advantage. The ironic thing is that later we killed the neutral Hurricane.

Wormhole to Stain

Although A4D was formed in 2005 we briefly took a hiatus to explore new options. Once we found out that large alliances were “the suck” we decided to re-invent A4D into what it is now. When A4D reformed into its current incarnation we moved to Stain, back then it was only SuXaR, Bullmastiff, myself and a couple others.

We became fairly familiar with the Region which we roamed daily. It is a series of long pipes that go nowhere in particular and is virtually impossible to get to without great effort. Even when jumping in from Saminer you are stuck in a portion of Stain that is desolate at best. Yesterday Pleniers scanned down a wormhole to the middle of Stain. We decided to hole in and head toward home and see what we could find.

Pleniers, RTB, CY, Taint and I decided to take on this adventure. Our fleet was fairly small, 1 Moa, 1 Scythe, 3 Scythe fleet issues. We jumped into Stain and went up and set waypoint back home; 35 jumps. With this being NPC space, for the most part there were no anomalies, most of the people who live here are level 4 mission runners. We knew we would have to find our quarries by sneaky sneaks; we excel at that.

We had gone 5 or so jumps, scanned some targets but due to that ridiculous carebear protection tool known as LOCAL CHAT; we missed out a Dominix and a Retriever. We passed up a huge Initiative gang picking on Stain Wagon…for what reason I have no idea. We circumvented the blob and traveled down the pip until I land on the NSG-LF gate. As I land, a Tengu lands at the same time.

He jumps, I jump. I order the gang to jump in and warp to the gate and hold. The Tengu de-cloaks and I get a point on him. Just in case he decided to run back to the gate I had the gang hold on the gate. When the Tengu red boxed I called in the fleet…it took a while but we finally killed him. He was pure tank, and pure idiot.

We went a few jumps down the pipe and caught scan of a Megathron and a Sabre. There were ten in local so we knew that they would have backup. Although we were fairly sure we could handle those two ships, they warped a second Megathron, Stabber and a Heretic to the gate. Now we were in a difficult to win situation. If any of us got webbed or scrambled we would not win. We already had limited range with our ships, Ham’s, Blasters and Light Missiles. We were made to be in close…just not too close.

We jumped through and burnt for the out gate (we were bubbled). Our typical plan in that situation is overheat and kill the small stuff that comes out to tackle. Taint unfortunately had the slowest ship of our group and ended up being at the backside of the gate and managed to get webbed and scrambled by the Megathron. He floated out of range, and we circled back around to see if we could kill the Stabber but we were too slow and lost the Scythe Fleet Issue.

*snip*Posting of kill reports outside of the Crime & Punishment forum channel is prohibited. ISD Ezwal

We burned out of range with our remaining ships and warped to the out gate. They decided not to chase us, so we decided to continue on with four; we were still formidable. I jumped to the next system and scanned a Broadsword and Thrasher near on the out gate. Crap. We had Interdictors ahead…and Heavy Interdictors ahead. I warped to the gate to find that he was 150k off the gate with a Thrasher.

I overheated toward the Broadsword, and shot the Thrasher as I approached. As I hit 35km the Thrasher popped and as I approached I managed a tackle on the Broadsword. I called the gang in to assist. I was taking a lot of damage but it wasn’t anything that our Scythe couldn’t handle. When the gang arrived I reloaded to a different damage type and we slowly chewed the HIC’s shields. With him unable to kill any of us, he dropped.

The rest of the trip home was uneventful until we got to K-Q. I managed to decloak an Iberian Pilgrim like a boss.

Wormholes

Although we are the Scourge of Curse in general the new wormhole scanning makes traveling to other areas a LOT easier. My good friend Pleniers has been scanning down everything early in the morning and we have been entering them in the evening. We have been to Delve, Querulous, Venal, Stain, and tonight’s adventure is in Feythabolis and Omist. Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone.

The really cool thing about these holes is that we have been running into gangs that we really haven’t seen before. It is VERY rare for us to run into battleships in Curse. For someone to fly a battleship in Curse really means that there is a hot drop about to come on. We welcome these opportunities; we get better with more exposure to different ways of fighting.

Episode fully dedicated to the Talos Assault Battlecruiser

Features:
- Shield Talos vs 2 Fleet Stabbers
- Facing a Shield Talos with a Repping Fleet Stabber
- Armor Talos and Gang vs Myrmidon and Prophecy
- Small typical skirmish: Talos, Hurricane, Fleet Scythe vs Cynabal, Vagabond, Rapier, Moa

As for Wormholes, they are indeed the latest way we get to just get away from Curse, in less than 5 jumps. Ususally 20 minutes of probing gets us half a universe away. Quite refreshing!

Manic Mondays

Typically there isn’t much activity near Curse on a Monday. Blythar and I decided to go out on a two man roam…so we basically had 4 people tag along. The original intent was to take out an assault frigate roam…something I enjoy immensely due to the amount of area you can cover in a short period of time. The final fleet composition was 2 Jag, Hawk, Coercer, Harpy and Scythe.

I knew we were in trouble right away when an Eve Uni gang was on one side of the gate and a Severance CVA gang was on the other side of the gate in the direction we wanted to go. They sat and looked at each other for fifteen minutes daring to do anything resembling a fight. One gang 30 the other 20…both too chicken sh!t to pull the trigger.

Then finally they decided to go away…unfortunately it was in the direction we wanted to go; no Wicked Creek for us. We then came up with an alternative plan, and set waypoint toward Catch. There was a pocket down there I wanted to check out. As we entered the pocket our rear scout said..HY – is filling up. And yes…IT WAS THE SAME damn gang that we circumvented in K-QWHE, they took 15 minutes to go the 5 jumps to the same damn destination that we were going.

By this time I am rather perturbed not only did this 30+ man fleet avoid a fight, they now had cut us off from the system we wanted to hunt in. We then set waypoint to HED-GP to see if we could get a kill there. Empty. So now we have gone 25 jumps and all we see are pods, shuttles and covert ops. Since we didn’t have a bubbler we decided to head home to pick one up.

When we get 1 jump from home we hear that Brave Newbies has a 40+man frig fleet in RMOC. Since we only had 6 guys, we managed to pick up a 7th and all we could come up with is 4 Augorors, and 4 others (1 Cane, 2 Vexor, 1 Thorax). We knew they had a scout in our system so we decided to bait them by aggressing each other on the station. We figured nothing would bring them in more than a 4 aggresses ships on a station.

When they landed; our damage ships started calling random targets and the Augorors undocked and started repairing everything they could. The Brave Newbies managed a couple jams on our Augorors and we lost cap chain…although we stabilized fairly quickly, we lost one of our 4 Augorors fairly quick. Our guys managed to kill 15 of them. They weren’t all quality kills but we ended up ahead.

Fool them once shame on them, fool them twice shame on them.

I make zero apologies for my unabashed hatred for the game mechanics favoring the big guy. Any time you run in to a PL gang they have a Cyno fitted, Every time you run into a Red Alliance gang they have a Cyno fitted. So why is this? Alliances typically won’t fight without superior numbers or major tactical advantage. Hiding a 50 man gang is incredibly difficult. So why engage 10 on 7 fight and only have a 30% numeric advantage when you can fight 50 on 7 and guarantee 7 kills with zero losses?

I can understand having an advantage. A4D ourselves are very good at baiting and switching, we fly with bonuses, we show less bring more, we gank, we use off systems to hide our fleet. I understand ganking, have you ever tried to travel through K-QWHE when the “Euro death squad” of Mellivora, Master Andrew, Thabela, Reemos and Judah are in their element? It is probably quite terrifying. We are typically tops on this list for a reason:
http://www.eve-census.com/region/Curse

But this isn’t about how we use a numeric advantage; this is how we manage to win with an overwhelming disadvantage. For instance, Brave Newbies came in earlier this week with a 48 man gang we engaged them (and won). We won by being smart and we won fighting out numbered 6 -1. We hid our logi in station, we had Damnation bonuses, we engaged on station to negate their speed advantage.

So what do you do when they come back and camp the Doril gate with 70 two days later? We mulled over our options. Thought we could kite them maybe, but with most of their ships being frigates and destroyers, they may have more speed than us. We considered an armor gang but we knew we stretched the limits of our logi during the last engagement and this time we only had 6 guys…not 8. No, this time we had to do something different. Bombing runs.

We climbed in our 5 bombers with Scorch bombs and call brought his bait ship…a Megathron. We snaked around through Utopia, keeping as invisible as we could. We got the mega into Doril and kept him on scan to keep the bad guys interested. We got our 5 bombers into position. The plan was simple, warp the mega to the gate, wait for aggression and take a run at the blob.

Cal called the run, he had about 15-20 guys aggressed. We aimed at the Megathron knowing that most of their ships would be approaching him. 3, 2, 1 launch. The mad scramble was on; bomb after bomb went off killing about 10…the rest warped off. The remaining fleet of 60 warped off and re-grouped, they went to the Doril gate and jumped into lowsec; just as our newly repaired Megathron was landing on the gate. Cal jumped back in to 0.0 and MWD the mega back to the gate. The Brave Newbie gang went after him a gain. This time we popped another 10 or so. They once again left Doril…but didn’t come back. 27 kills 0 losses.

Well, of course I had to log in right before the second bomb run and not have a bomber fitted up. BAD Quawr!!! But I did fit one up right away and lo and behold a PL battleship gang appears in VOL. There are 4 battleships, a cloaky pilgrim and a stiletto. We realize that this is PL and they wouldn't be out an about without a couple of cynos in the group and if we engaged them with equal numbers, the wimps would have to cyno on supers because that's all they know how to do. They would never put their precious battleships at risk. So we hopped in bombers and headed to 8G. This time Cal got in a sabre and we had grown to a fleet of 9 bombers. Cal tried to bait them with his sabre by jumping into VOL, but all they would do is try to snipe him. Our bombers were cloaked up on the other side of the gate when they jumped in the pilgrim to scout. Since the sabre was to small of of a target. An alt jumped his proteus into them in VOL and burned back to gate while being sniped at. The proteus then jumped back into 8G so that the pilgrim would see him. We hoped that the proteus would galvanize them into action but To no avail. They left via ARG; too scared to take on the unexpected even though they probably had a fleet of supers and sub caps waiting on the other side of one the their cynos. We didn't get any kills, but watching PL run like a bunch of pansies was fun!!

These new changes to scanning rock! Where wormholes were a pain in the butt to find before, they are easy now and we have been exploiting them. We are finding target rich hunting grounds with rich players who assume their big flashy ships should be able to annihilate what we fly. As a result we are killing lots of big flashy ships.

I have posted in the past a few fights saying the most exciting fight ever. But I am having a problem. We’re having too many most exciting fights ever so I am just gonna say, this one was one for the books.

Pleniers who I have mentioned more than a few times had found a wormhole leaving from KQ and having among other exits two nullsec exits. We put together a non-remarkable fleet of 8 ships which included two Augoror’s, two Augoror Navy Issue, a Rupture, two Stabber Fleet Issue, a Vexor and a Sabre.

The first gang we found had a Maelstrom, Broadsword, Hurricane and Naga. They were not flown particularly well, by way of example look at the fit on the Maelstrom and try to figure out why he warped to zero on the gate? We ate him up and I don’t think he ever hit one of us.

*snip*Posting of kill reports outside of the Crime & Punishment forum channel is prohibited. ISD Ezwal

The broadsword managed to escape but for some reason we were one jump out and it warped in on us. We think he must have had reinforcements coming but he was dead and we were gone before they ever landed.

*snip*Posting of kill reports outside of the Crime & Punishment forum channel is prohibited. ISD Ezwal

If you are going to fly around in the other guys hometown it pays not to hang out too long so we headed back to KQ very pleased with what the wormhole had yielded.

It was just a short roam so within a few minutes we had reformed and were off to further exploration of its opportunities.
What happened next was amazing. Our fleet had swollen to a giant blob…we had 9 ships this time, with the addition of Bren and Jak from Ouch. We put together a fast shield fleet this time. One Stabber Fleet Issue, two Harpys, a Scythe Fleet Issue, 2 Vagabonds, an Osprey Navy Issue, a Wolf and a Republic Fleet Firetail.

Dr. Strangewrench who I have not mentioned before in this thread was at the helm. Doc has not been FCing with us all that long but that did not stop this fleet from being memorable. Doc has 2,348 kills and a success ratio of 13:1. He is currently rated number 3,048 on the battleclinic killboard.

Strange decided not to go into the same area we did last time so he consulted with Kabars who seems to have an alt or a cousin in every system in eve, and between them we set our destination to Malpais a place that the rest of us had not even heard of before.

Well things got interesting and they got interesting fast. The fight which through the magic of Fraps, I am going to be able to share with you lasted nearly 10 minutes. I have mentioned in prior posts adrenaline, excitement, jumping up at the end of a fight, well if this don’t do it for you maybe you are a miner at heart.

Enjoy a view of the fight from the FC viewpoint and if you like what you see maybe you should take a serious look at the Killers of Curse A4D.

I understand fully why people cancel their subscription now. I think I will now go do something useful, like walk in a station or something.

Well, we have been doing a lot of roaming lately. Every time you turn around someone is taking out a fleet of hunters to see what we can kill. Last night was no exception. Pleniers took a group of us to Immensea to see what we could get into. This fleet was abnormal in that instead of 5 or 6 of us it started out with 17 in fleet. It was an armor cruiser roam with 3 T1 logi, 2 tackle. 1 links T3 and the rest DPS. We hit a few systems belonging to Spaceship Samuri. We got a Damnation on one of their undocks as they were playing station games. We then caught a Domi flying around unfitted. He actually jumped into system at the same time as his scout. Not to bright!! We roamed around and got another couple of kills. I would link them but CCP might ban me. During the station games we lost one tackle and we had a few leave fleet bring us down to 11 in fleet. We still had 3 logi, links and 7 DPS cruisers. We had been out for a while and had decided to go home. On the way, Our scout ran into what appeared to be a 15 man BC heavy fleet with a couple if T3, 2 Logi and one or 2 cruisers in the mix. We decided that although the odds were against us we would push the fight and see what would happen. We engaged this BC fleet, immediately taking down their Logi. We got the upper hand but a second fleet jumped in made up of several Domis, they were probably hiding in another system waiting for us to engage. It was at this time that our logi started to have trouble keeping up with the damage and we started taking losses. It is truly a testament to our FCs and Pilots that we entered a fray outnumbered and outgunned and it took the enemy bringing in reinforcements to start breaking our tanks and reps. Well Spaceship Samuri finally got brave realizing that they had friends and brought a 3rd fleet in on us made up of more BCs and cruisers. We finally broke off action at 3.5 to 1 odds due to taking to many losses. It was a wonderful fight even tho we eventually succumbed to the enemies numbers. We ended up killing 10 out of the 37 ships that fought us losing everything but our links. We made it back to K-Q but were we upset and rage logging? Not a chance we heard that there was another. Bad guy fleet out there looking for a fight. We reshipped and headed back out looking for more good fights. Props to NC. For bringing the fight to us. If you enjoy small gang pvp take a peek at A

August has been rather slow for me; which is why I haven’t been writing much on the recruitment forums about it. A week of vacation here, wife agro there…my eve time has been limited at best. This weekend I had managed to go on a few roams, get a couple kills here and there but have not orchestrated a memorable fight all month.

Either we are running into blobs of smack talking followers, or have been blue balled by similar sized gangs whom refuse to engage. It really has been a weird month. Don’t get me wrong, we have been getting our kills but NOT WHEN I AM IN GANG. Grrrrr. Of the more memorable fights is when we ran into our neighbors NI4NI fighting it out with CVA. We thought we had a three way until….both gangs GTFO’d.

We have been roaming around Scalding Pass and Wicked Creek lately. There are lots of things happening in these regions. There are TONS of new pets to kill.

Any time you inject new pilots into a corporation you tend to get a decline in overall performance. It isn’t that the pilots are not skilled they simply don’t know how you as a cohesive unit do things; what ends up happening is they do whatever comes naturally to them; human nature at its basic element. It isn’t bad it just takes time to trust the decisions of the Fleet commander and execute orders as expected.

When flying with guys I have flown with forever like Cal7, Kogelbiefstuk, Bullmastiff, Pleniers or Doctor Strangewrench…I know what to expect from them and vice versa. We know each other style, we know our jobs and know what expected of each other. In this particular fleet we had some newer members and some returning A4D members. These members in particular hadn’t formed that bond/trust yet. Without that trust mistakes happen and ships are endangered. That is Eve.

One of the members spoke up on coms and contradicted the FC orders to engage. And to be honest, it was one of those 50/50 fights but by adding his two cents; it caused hesitation. That hesitation prevented our interdictor from popping his bubble; that hesitation caused a few of our tacklers to not aggress. That hesitation caused the rest of the fleet to confirm orders. Conflicting orders is the best way to get a fleet wiped.

Eventually the FC regained control of the gang, targets were called but because of the initial hesitation, we ended up with far fewer kills than we should have. We did manage a Loki kill but it could have been a Loki, Vigilant and Omen Fleet Issue kill. A4D is good because we know how each other fly, we do our jobs and we execute. It is these little things that we must eliminate to improve as a Corporation. It is a constant work in process.

Our Fleet: Jag, Harpy x3, Kitsune, Sabre, Omen
Their Fleet: Vigilant, Sabre, Omen Navy Issue, Stabber, Loki (Booster)
