Your original post had charm. This is just ordinary. You could have at least made up a better ending! Twisted

The whole thing just kind of got rushed, I spent the weekend farming ISK fairly hardcore, and all the time I noticed I was paying ISK into the system. Via our 15% corp tax-rate. Then it occured to me, I have been paying 15% tax since I've been in this corporation for almost 8 months now. And while I do get a "share" of the income for being a director, I still end up losing ISK in the long run.

The ISK collected in taxes was partially MY ISK, and if you consider all the time and effort I put into policing the SRP and going the extra mile to ensure even faction modules are replaced at a reasonable cost I technically had ownership of the SRP fund.

So after making about 800m ISK this weekend and paying 120m of it right back to the corp, I decided I had had enough. It was time for me to stop apologizing for simply taking what was rightfully mine.

From this point of view I hadn't done anythign wrong, but certainly when the CEO logs in next I'll be branded a thief regardless of rightful ownership.

I emptied the SRP hangar and wallet as a measure of justice, if I am going to be wrongfully branded a theif without any reasonable hope of clearing my name I might as well go forth with both feet forward.

If you steal something small you are a petty thief, but if you steal millions you are a gentleman of society -- Greek Proverb

If you look at it this way:
400m per weekend
4 weekends per month
8 months in corp.
15% Tax Rate

1.9B (more or less what I borrowed).
So, the money I lost was really originally MY MONEY. So I shouldn't be branded a thief.

Wrongfully accaused of being a thief, might as well be a thief.

Thank You Obama!

You've Got Mail!

From: Former CEO
To: STO

There is no greater suffering I can wish upon you, than what you have brought upon yourself. No man would have traded loyalty and friendship for money. You have fallen in the eyes of your friends, in your family and before god. The traitor’s path leads only to darkness, sadness, and exile. I could expose your deception and bring you low before all communities of EVE, instead I shall bide my time and wait.
The damage you have caused is irreparable, you were my trusted lieutenant and someone I considered a friend. This corporation was formed to provide an alternative to brainwashing organizations like E-UNI, RVB, and Agony. You and I agreed upon this, and now you have cast away your principles for an easy payday. At this point in time I see no options but to close the corporation and personally my own account. You have destroyed everything. You have destroyed yourself, and you have destroyed me.
Go on and build your future. Until one day CCP offers me a 5-day return pass. When that day comes I shall reveal to your new friends with who you really are. I am going to end right here as there are no amount of words to describe how little you have become.

My deepest condolences for your loss of humanity,

Thank You Obama!

Wat.

What the hell "brainwashing" are those organizations supposed to be doing? And a 15% corp tax is basically theft in and of itself.

Also, gotta love the "YOU STOLE MY SPACE PIXELS, HAVE YOU NO HUMANITY?!?!" card.

This is why I charge my corp zero tax. I refuse to scam people like the ceo did in this story. The OPis welcome in my corp anytime.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Posting with my main would violate the power of the vocal minority.

Assuming people knew my main character they could then associate this with him and inform people who would otherwise never have read the forums.

TBH I regret it had to come to this, and I wish him luck in whatever game he plays next, but I am relieved he chose to quit, due to the relative anonymity of the forums there is a good chance I'll never have to pay for what I've done.

Alls well that ends well I suppose.

Thank You Obama!

Pretty lame corp theft story. I can see why you didn't post it in C&P.

At least own the theft entirely, don't try some lame-brained justification that somehow taxes you paid are yours. Regardless of how high the rate is, you agreed to it, and it belongs to the corp, country, government, or whatever entity it is paid to. It was never yours.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

My deepest condolences for your loss of humanity,

Seems to me that you've beaten the former CEO to it... A loss of, what is it... +/- 7b total? That could be gained back rather easily if everyone is willing to help with it and show the corp some love <3. This depends on the size of the corp ofc, but the average corp-size is what, 20-30 people or something. It seems to me that the former CEO considered the money to be his already, or he thought he had to get the money back on it's own... Otherwise I wouldn't see this as a reason to ragequit, not for longer then a day at least...

Its stories like this that make me sad there's a character bazaar.
I've used it myself and its a great service but anyone can screw a corp over and make a new identity.
I don't think awoxing should be nerfed or banned, I just dont like the ease with which you can slip away and start a new life.
I guess buying a new toon is just the same as starting a new account but then you'd have 500k sp as a cost for your new identity.

all for the isk? really? i have gained and lost more then that, and none of it matters in the end
what was more valuable for me then any amount of isk was having friends who still helped me even when they had nothing to gain from it

and to the CEO who's quitting:

i hope you are reading this, because now is a time when you can find out who to really trust

there is nothing to gain from hanging around, so look at your friends
cherish those who stand by your side even when they have nothing to gain

everything in eve is an oppertunity, you have never truly lost untill you give up
