Sounds a bit dumb, why interdict in the month with the least miners online?

Don't tell me that goons started looking at price action and want to amplify it.

It's a fundamental thing, you wouldn't understand.

The fact that one tmdc writer opted to run a piece on price action means that, well, one tmdc writer opted to run a piece on price action. I know it's hard to wrap your head around the idea of writers on the site having free will and stuff, but it is true.

They wouldn't even need an interdiction:

1. Organize mining ops for a week or two, keep the topes OR buy a pile before others do
2. Announce a planned interdiction
3. Wait for Jita crowd to go nuts and start stockpiling topes
4. When the price is high enough, sell their stock days before the interdiction is supposed to start
5. PROFIT

Bonus points:

6. Release an email about the interdiction being cancelled
7. Watch Jita traders go crazy shedding tears with all those piles of isotopes

But knowing goons, they would still want blood, so

Extra bonus points:

8. Buy a gazillion of another type of racial isotopes
9. Go for the interdiction in a different racial ice region (chosen in point 8)
10. PROFIT. AGAIN

Of course.

The tiny detail about you having such fundamentals data and making the markets, while nobody else has anywhere close to that information is irrelevant to the fact that others can't use as reliable fundamental analysis. Big smile

"Free will"... so much that when I wanted to write a piece on that website (it was not even about economics, figures) I have not been accepted as writer.

So, free will but only after passing a "brain is aligned enough to the desired direction" certification, eh?

If the goons are smart, and i believe they are when it comes to mass market manipulation...they will use the terror of the nitrogen ice event to refill their pockets twice.

Lets assume they prepared for this and been stocking up for months. Now under the artificially heightened demand and rising prices, they sell where everyone else buys in panic or speculation. In the meantime, they buy up the other ice products with the profit and when the time comes they announce they are not going to hit the nitrogen supply, but something else.

Net effect is that they ride two profit waves in a short amount of time by simply spreading information they know will alter the market in specific ways. And the nice thing for them is, they still get to have their event, just in another set of regions.

What do others think of this?

PS.

There are a lot of well rounded amounts, very high priced sell orders up...coincidence?

I am serious!

Any manipulation attempt success will be based off the average purchase price of the targeted item before "new" information becomes public. I would not be surprised that stockpiling of cheap ice products has not been going on consistently for over a year now (or more).

Ice was too cheap for too long, anyone with a long-term view and good cash flow would have been crazy not to stockpile ice when people were basically selling it for next to nothing. Fun times ahead!!

Nitrogen to 3000 by the end of the month? Hopefully this will help with procurer sales Big smile.

Our gentle Goon friends have said it before and it's still true. They are horible at this game. However, one thing they are very good at is creating player content. If we left player content up to CCP, this game would be as boring and predictable as WoW. Thank you dear friends for keeping the game interesting.

That's still too new, but a simple reply like this (without all the fanfare and trolling) would have done fine.

This is a message I can get behind.

Some of mine are up around 1444, so get to it, you've got a ways to go.

anyway since here you (when you want) and Arith are the only providers of good econ data and material, please post it.

Here's the data. All there is to it is that we've won Fountain, and it's time to celebrate.

Ancillary benefits such as spiking the value of stockpiles purchased by individual goons up to (and perhaps past) the advised target price are just that - ancillary.

I mean, let's be real - when have we ever needed an excuse to blow **** up in Empire?

Well, like i said. Research requires bodies when you are doing something truly economy impacting.

It is also nice to have just secured the western Oxytopes. So others cannot do the same to us.

It is really nice to be sitting on over a billion isotopes myself.

Goons billions more.

It is like sodomizing a huge conga line of industries out there on a bed of sweet sweet ISK.

Pretty romantic really
