I approve of this message! Only now it's 10 pages....but that doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy a good bowl of Caldari Corn Paste! Great for every occasion or page!

I told myself I'd stop trying to talk to you, but there's a question here I've got to get an answer to, and so i'll ask it of the Republic in general: What would the Republic fleet have done if it were not intercepted by the Federation Navy? Where would it have gone? What would it have done if the Federation refused to negotiate with it?

Would it have destroyed Federation infrastructure?
Would it have destroyed neutral shipping?
Would it have destroyed a station?

Would it have fired upon a populated planet?

And would Republican capsuleers have fired, too?

Surely we can't know an answer to that, but we can speculate. And the speculation doesn't give me comfort. That is ultimately why I'm in favor of the Federation dropping the alliance. Not to "punish" the Republic. Not for a pique of grief. But for the simple fact that we were attacked by an ally.

Actually, Ms Akahoshi, you can't speculate on that, not legitimately. You know why? Because you have no information to suggest any of that. What you're doing is leaping headlong down a slippery slope for no purpose other than abject paranoia.

There's nothing in the events that happened to suggest the Fleet would've attacked anything other than whatever facility held Broteau and any military units that tried to stop them.

If a friend stabs you, cutting your arm, and then refuses to offer any explanation, would you still want to be their friend?

I do notice how you always leave out the antagonism towards that friend that will have been building up for quite some time leading up to that event when you use these analogies.

Quote:
I have no desire to punish the Republic. I don't want to see a war with the Republic. What I want is for the Federation to acknowledge that the Republic attacked it and to take steps to guard against future attacks.

This is the most sensible thing you've said in quite some time. The thing is, you're calling for the complete dissolution of the alliance, which does punish the entirety of the Republic and goes far beyond "acknowledge that the Republic attacked and take steps to guard against the possibility of future attacks." That last bit can be done quite easily without ending the alliance. In fact, the event at Colelie rather proves that the Federation is quite well guarded against the possibility of attack by the Republic already, and the Federation seems to have acknowledged what happened in Colelie.

So, it seems that you already got what you wanted before you even asked for it?

Anyone else laugh at how Musana trash talks the Fed, but back handedly tries to say that dissolving the alliance is pointless or a bad idea?

Anyone?

Dissolve all those alliances. Silly things anyways. Sounds like a great idea.

Oh, my distaste for the Federation is hardly secret. It wasn't even a secret back when you asked me out, though it certainly didn't seem to bother you until I said "No." Funny that. Hormones, I guess. They do seem to be problematic for young boys like yourself.

Regardless, liking a nation is hardly a requirement for being allied with them. As I said before, alliances are built out of convenience, not mutual attraction.

You really try to milk that date thing don't you? Well I guess if I didn't have actual substance to use against an argument I'd have to resort to that bullshit too. At least it boosts your ego right?

By the way, did you ever consider that I don't like you not because of the above mentioned farce of an excuse, but because you're simply an ass?

But you were happy to overlook that when you thought you had a chance at bedding me, of course. It's okay. I understand. Like I said, hormones are problematic for young boys like yourself.

You can try, shortstuff, but they'll just grow another one that looks just like me. Now if you really want to try, you can always find me dirtside, but keep in mind that there's no pod to clone you then, or me either - not that that bothers me in the slightest. I hope your backup is up to date so they can explain your death to you later. You've got a great record in space, ambushing ships on undocks and such, but dirtside you are in my playpen.

Besides, i'd rather just take you fishing, you catch more than me on a trip, and i'll shut up.

Honestly, you really need either to just relax more, drink more, or get laid more, because these freakouts must be hell on your clone' s hearts.

Think of the clones.

YOUR playpen?! I will just wring your neck, puny gallentean freak! But if I kill your clone dirtside, will you shut up?

And like I said in the other thread, before you seemed decent enough before taking a page from the book of RAGE and running with it like a self righteous Amarrian zealot crying victim after a Sebeistor accidently bumps into him on a crowded street.

You sure it's me and my 'hormones,' or you and your menopause? The later seems much more plausible given the sadly consistent credibility you give to your operatic pontification. I can almost see your angry gesticulation through all the acidic, misinformed vitriol.

Heh, I didn't know a habit of mass consumption of coffee, and fishing counted as hedonism...

No, I think you meant it, nice way to try to cover your brain slip, though. Your reactions up thread don't help your case. Admitting things like this help you deal with them.

Yeah, my playpen...

I may joke around and smart off a lot, Diana, but, like I said, you can certainly try if you want to dance.

In the meantime, take your antipsychotics, hug your Tibus Heth plushie, and try to realize that you've put him on way too high a pedestal to be healthy for your sanity.

Mhmm, and yet neither my behavior nor the things I write on the IGS have changed with any degree of significance since that event. In fact, I've actually mellowed since Colelie. Yet, you didn't decide I do nothing but "rage" until after you asked me out and I said no. It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together and get four, hon.

And, quite frankly, the only one who's showing anger, aside from Ms Kim over there, is you. You've raged at me so much that you put a fairly decent sized bounty on my head.

All of these hurt feelings aside, if the Federation ever wants to prosecute a war of aggression against the State, in the future, they'll need someone to watch the backdoor in case our allies come calling.

So... Is the alliance still necessary?

I think we both know that, unless the government goes fully hard-line nationalist again, that's unlikely to happen Pieter.
Thankfully, on both sides of this conflict the governments seem to have cooled their heads a little.

Not indicative of corporate policy unless otherwise stated.

Though I hope this scenario never comes to pass, the answer is no. The Amarrians wouldn't jump in, because alliances existing or no, they'd have to commit to a degree that leaves them vulnerable to a Minmatar attack.

The Federation and the Republic wouldn't have to be allies for the Republic to take a shot at the Empire if the opportunity presented itself.

I think it's been safely established that Shakor's Republic would take a shot at the Empire whether or not an opportunity ever presented itself.

Wow then I REALLY dodged a bullet. First, don't call me hon. Second, I didn't notice til after Colelie because you didn't spam as much. I'd never seen a posting from you til then. But I like how you use that lie of an excuse as if it makes my arguments invalid when compared to the amount of circular thinking and bullshit reasoning and 'I AM ALWAYS RIGHT' arguments you make. But like I said before, if I had nothing to stand on against another's argument, I'd have to rely on that too.
