Well she's pregnant and you should see her she's coming along nicely. But it is a stress being pregnant and she is now taking a back seat. But she will eventually be back.

ATX pulled in a lot of the CCP employees and gave them face time that I think they deserve, which I havn't seen in this Alliance tournament. It's been some fairly good commentators on the matches, with Frank Mir clone Bachanallian, yet I find the lack of some of the talented female CCP employeees lacking. For example I found CCP_Punkturis's personality, accent, and input very positive to the previous alliance tournament presentation. Just wondering if we will see more of a diverse CCP lineup on the public scene in the future?

In my humble opinion, the commentators - CCP and players alike - need to be the best ones available and willing to do the job. Gender or any other aspect should not be part of the decision-making process.

As a female player, I was not offended at all by the lack of female representation in the commentator booth or on set at the table.

On the other hand, I do wish the commentators would stop referring to me as "he!" Roll Not a big deal and it doesn't really matter whether they call me "he" or "she" in the big picture of it all, but still ... it's going to take months before everyone who knows me in game stops teasing me about this!

I really am running out of patients for such feminism. How about we get people who want to/have the talent to do the job yes? I find filling some arbitrary ratio or race/gender/religion/sexual preference what have you entirely and mentally bull crap.

Baring about slippy slopes such quotas do no one not such good. You want diversity? Promote those who are in minority to step forward if thats what they want and then (and this is important) leave those who are doing their job well currently alone.

Feminism is about equal opportunities and against sexism (discrimination by gender) and not about ratios or some bull crap. gender ratios are by definition sexist. Read up on what they actually say, you may find out it's exactly what you talked about.
You're right, by definition. But the majority of white knights (Check for instance the +theism movement) is not that.
The gender ratios, the fixation on white middleclass women and female superiority is not what the original (And defining) feminism movements were about, but it is becoming the most visible face of "feminism" today - and especially so on the internet.

Okay but ask yourself this:

How many ladies work at CCP, how many of them want to cast this event?

I doubt very much that CCP is filled with sexist bigots.

Punkturis is on maternity leave, afaik. So, you know, bit unfair to say "Leave your kid behind and come in and talk about spaceships"

While that may be true, I'm sure she's not the only female in CCP and it would be really cool fore everybody if more people got some facetime on public broadcast.

i find you disturbin. did you ever think about that the women at CCP maybe were on vacation or didn't want to be in front of the camera?
you think it's your place to FORCE them to leave their young newborn alone at home or force them in front of the camera even if they don't want to?

I am curious to know if, and how many, girls were actual pilots in the tourney?

I'm not sure how to answer your question.
It doesn't seem to be related to the posts you quoted, and I am not sure I even understand it properly.

Furthermore, if taken at face value I have no way of knowing the answer, only a baseless guess-at-random.

While I wouldn't be opposed to female commentators I don't find the lack of them disturbing. I definitely enjoyed the commentators in this tournament far more then in any tournament previously, especially the Rote Kapelle guys that came out.

However, to be completely honest, I'm surprised Mintchip didn't make a showing

Nothing against CCP Sunset and I am sure she's great at her job. I always felt she was tense and not comfortable
nor fluid when on the air. I enjoyed the commentary this year minus the anti gay jabs that is and Shadoo fake hating on PL.

We had three women on our team (Agony Empire), including myself.

Cop out reply

How many ladies do you think work at CCP? How many do you think WANT to cast or have the ability?

what my question boils down to is realistically how many people who are female want to/can do that job? Maybe just mayby they picked the best person for the job hmmm? In stead of say filling out some arbitrary quota.

I just want a good product I frankly don't care who makes it.

Could use some blacks, some gays, some Native Americans & some cross dressers while we are at it.. also I believe Soundwave was the only European on there, that's not well representative.

I wonder why certain people feel a need to always make problems where there are none. If there is a woman interested in doing this I am sure she will enroll for an interview. Don't push things like you are doing now, how many qualified hardcore playing women are around and willing to do this?

Forced change is unhappy change.. Eve is a game and thus should be a happy, relaxing activity.. Leave your civil rights book at home and use it for more important issues..

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

They should get the female who did the talking in the Clarion call Rooks and kings videos to do some commentating. That would be great!
