Was it just me or was Shadoo like leaning in taking up 65% of the comentator screen and kept talking louder and louder everytime he was interupted? (kinda liek CCP Dolan yesterday but way worse)

I found it Very distracting and found my self muttering "Shut up Shadoo" a few times, i thought of muting the streem but i do generaly enjoy the comentator banter and didnt want to miss out on a funny or insightful bit.

I know his team was in the final matches (and it would have been ok if it was one or two outbursts) but i enjoy his cool calm comentatin way better than his hyper yelling.

Maybe but you can see how invested he was in the fight and he really is the best play by play commenator. He explains tactics, what people should be doing and not just who is taking damage.

Shadoo - the John Madden of the AT - was awesome. Humorous and insightful, it makes for a great color man announcer.

Despite how insightful, and good his comentary was, theres a point where you start bouncing up and down and yelling like a 5 year old told hes going to Disney World that it gose from good commentary to terible comentary and i think he crossed that line a few times needlessly.

More to the point Hes comentary would have likely been easyer to take if the other comentator didnt look like he was shoved out of Shadoos way, maybe they should have let Shadoo solo comentate.

I too was most disturbed by this as I had my browser zoomed into the commentary booth the whole time to check screen sharing physical ratios between commentators at all time whilst awesome fights were going on and then my wife came home from the shops and she had bought me a ....... life! Roll
Shadoo was awesome and passionate but if you actually tune into any event involving teams just to watch and listen to the commentators then you probably have no idea what you're watching and need them anyway.

lol I have actualy been in the alaince torniment so I do know whats going on probialy a bit better than most. Regaurdless it didn't take much "focusing" on the commentary booth to see shadoo dominating it with little regaurd for his co hoast. The matches where great and the comentary was great, all im saying is alittle profesionalism would have made it even better.

I don't think it got to the point that the commentary was terrible, but there were times I wished he'd let Fozzie get a word in. I enjoyed all the commentators overall, though I do also wish Dolan wouldn't use "like" so much and would stop making declarative statements sound like questions. Minor gripes, though--generally great job all around.

That's shadoo an he's like that. He has a high opinion of himself and not everyone likes him but he's really good at what he does and a great pvper and tactician sadl he doesn't understand boundaries and obviously personal space and when to quiet down. But he gets results and asides from being loud and obnoxious I loved his feedback on fleet compositions and tactics.

I had about the same idea though couldn't resist thinking the guy actually had a boner from the fights. Can see why though seeing how PL overwon the setback and it was a really interesting and ''exciting'' final .

My biggest concern was not just the shouting like a kid but he just sounds like that chef from the muppets wich is not that attractive. It's allways nice to have someone who's voice is suited for doing commentary.
Like that guy from rooks and kings , if you watch their vids on youtube you just sit on the tip of your chair because the guy doing the commentary/voice overs has a SUPERB tone/accent for it.

Ah well overall nice tourney so this is offfcourse complaining to complain about something and i'm sure shadoo did aa better job at it then i ever could. Blink

I understand that people enjoy commentators who are both enthusiastic and knowledgable, as it does make the matches much, much more entertaining.

However, as someone who is unfamiliar with Shadoo outside of his name and his soundboard, I have to agree that it was like watching a five-year-old. He really was obnoxious and irritating, and, most importantly, completely unprofessional. Comparing him to John Madden is aahhb-soooh-lootly laughable. "That's just how he is" shouldn't have to be an excuse. If you want people outside of the "in-crowd" to watch these streams, you don't put someone like that behind the camera.

His yelling at the top of his lungs the whole time annoyed the hell out of me. It was especially bad whenever he commentated a PL match. I think the CCP tournament team should seriously consider banning him from commentating PL matches, he just turns into a 12 year old cheerleader on crack during those matches.

Totally. Especially when he wanted that PL Tengu to die.

I thought Shadoo was great. I didn't really know who he was before the tourney, although I had heard the name a few times.
I really liked his manner, both in the studio - his gentle happy self assured humour, and in the booth where his excitement and passion for the tourney really added to the tension.
For me he was also very neutral and unbiased considering his PL role, almost too neutral sometimes siding against his own team. It was lovely to see him let go of that and dash through the studio behind the other commentators after his side won :)
I loved when PL lost tourney ships, and the other commentators gently poked fun at him about the cost and his budget, you could see him wincing :) but he took it all on the chin with good humour.
I like that CCP brings these high profile players on board for the tournament, it breaks down the barrier between CCP and the players, also we get to hear from the competitor's point of view. It really rounds the studio coverage out very well.
Of all the people who did booth duty Shadoo was easily my top choice.
Yeah he talked over fozzie a bit, yeah he was loud, but boy was he passionate about ships exploding in space :)

Would buy from Shadoo against A++++

I have nothing against Shadoo personally, but I really disliked his casting style, to the point that it kind of ruined the finals for me.
He doesn't seem to know how to take turns speaking.
