Rorqual issues

Hi, If anyone can come up with any idea why this is happening I will be very much grateful.

I put the right amount of heavy water in my fuel bay.

I had my ore bay full of ice.

I started my industrial core.

I opened my science and industry tab, then it never showed me anything, I looked through all the tabs and all the filters while it was running. for some reason I can not compress ore/ice?!?!?!

Yet before the patch I could?

Any ideas?

Known bug probably....get in station or sma...then hop back in and it should clear it.

The Rorqual is, and always has been very buggy.

You will find a lot of strangeness the more you use your Rorqual. Here are the general solutions to try:

Re-loging sometimes helps. Re-boarding sometimes helps. A session change (re-dock) sometimes helps. Repackaging and refitting the industrial core sometimes helps. Repacking the Rorqual sometimes helps (sacrifices rigs - petition first if it comes to this).

Another problem is that Rorqual jobs are only refreshed every minute, but a compression run can take less than that, so it is best to make sure your jobs are always over a minute long. Trivia: This was a CCP kludge patch; they reduced the refresh from 5 minutes used by all other industry jobs.

How to use the industrial Core on a Rorqual

Tip: You may want to check the S&I settings (last tab) for the default material location to be defined by user rather than BPO location.

have correct compression bpo in your cargohold along with ore/ice to compress

right click on compression bpo and select manufacturing

type number of runs into correct box, some maths may be required here to work it out

click pick installation button

change installation type to personal

select one of 4 lines that show up for rorq

click ok,

repeat 3 times to use all 4 lines

note: heavy water does not need to be in fuel bay, industrial core will pull from main cargohold

Well, you don't need the fuel bay for anything else, so might as well as use it! Blink

Some Rorqual pilots may not realize:

* Rorquals can now use the ore hold for ore compression jobs, in addition to the cargo hold and the fleet hangar.

You can set the input to the ore hold and the output to the much smaller cargohold.

Don't forget to set the default input / output setting to "defined by user" on the settings tab of S & I.

All good things to try, but if after all the above doesn't work, then here is another.

If no one else has compressed using your rorqual then ignore this.

If you're using a shared rorqual, the previous person may have jobs still in the 'belly'. If you can find that other pilot, have them jump in and deliver their old jobs.

I was searching for info on Rorquals earlier and came across a post where someone was having issues with the compression lines not showing. What fixed their problem was parking it in a ship maintenance array then popping it out again.

Do I have to run the Industrial core the entire time the job is running?

Yes. The job will be paused if the core isn't running. The core also must be running to deliver the job.

Typically when you are boosting in a force field there is nothing else to do but compress too. Activating the core outside of a force field is considered suicidal.

I am having the same problem. CCP had me Repackage it then try again. It works for one trip and then when I dock it screws up again. before the first repackage I could not even see the rorq under installations. After the repackage it works but when i dock and reload ore for the next round it locks up and I lose the ore in process. when I repackage the blueprints come back but the ore is gone forever. It would be nice if CCP would fix this since it is such an ongoing bug on an important industrial ship.

Had the same issue a week ago, was told via petition to try repackaging industrial core, rorqual to no affect (well, repacking worked until the next time I started another round of compression jobs).

Final solution:

Change the "range" from "Current Solar System" to "Current Universe" rather than any of the others. Make sure "Owner" is "Me". The jobs showed up & were able to be delivered. After delivering the jobs it has worked fine. Changing the range back to any other setting now shows the jobs as well (as it did prior to breakage).

Good luck, these things are .. odd.
