Sidekick, dual trading, or refer a friend alt for trading?

So I just got back into eve and I've started station trading. Why is this so much fun??? Anyways I'm looking at the most cost effective way to trade. The way I see it, for $25 I can get a sidekick for 3 months. Perhaps by then I can make enough to plex the alt. Or I could pay to train a second character on my account for a month. Or I could do the refer a friend.

The option to dual train seems the cheapest since station trading skills take less than a month to become profitable. Now, I only have 100mil isk to my name so I won't be doing billions of isk worth of trading any time soon. I'm only earning about 3mil isk per day right now as I don't want to get burned by a market shift. That means I only log in a few times per day to check orders. Since I can only play about 10hrs per week, having my alt on the same account doesn't really bother me. The little time spent adjusting orders doesn't really eat into my play time.

What do you guys suggest? Eventually I may max out the skills, but I will never have more than about 10hrs to play per week due to family, job, house, etc so the value of playing concurrent accounts doesn't matter so much to me. Thanks in advance!

i guess you are in jita. if you can only log in a few times each day you should move to one of the other hubs, that will make much more of a difference than an extra char when your orders get beaten after a couple of minutes.

i started out with nothing in dodixie and made a billion on my trial and i am by no means a great trader or spent tons of time in eve, so with your 100m starting capital you should do fine.

if the alts you plan are just for station trading then an extra account is not needed. depending on how many trade skill you want to train you might just train two alts on your main account for one month with a plex (not sure if you can split it up - if you cant, use the plex on your main and the "normal" training on the alts).

if 3 chars are not enough you might want to create throwaway trial accounts, since you basicly get 51 free days each month if you plex the trial account instead of your main. just be careful that you do not have your money tied up when the account expires.

Thanks! I am in Jita right now. This isn't for any particular reason, but the volume there is ridiculously high. I got scared of trading in a hub where there may only be 500 sales per day. Since I can't camp the market I was afraid I'd be beaten on price and miss all of the sales. Is there any rule if thumb in volumes?

Is it one plex to train an alt? Is the plex training different than normal? The CCP website has links everywhere to purchase plex, but they practically hide what you can do with it.

Its one PLEX for 30 days of dual character training or $20 USD. Currently there is a price discount on buying a PLEX so there is really no point to pay the flat credit card rate for dual character training.

Training is exactly the same, only for two characters instead of one. Also, you can not queue up multiple months at a time. You have to wait until the training clock gets close to zero (I think 5 days) before you can add another 30.
