What about interceptors?

Dear CCP Fozzie,

Please take some time to balance interceptors, the t1 variants are fitting in very well and have really changed frigate warfare. I think that fleet and combat interceptors could use some balancing. This would go in pretty awesome with the proposed HAC changes as well as it could be a way to round out fleet doctrines using fleet interceptors rather than just recons for tackle.

Regards,

Lady Terrible

*facepalm*

And HOW do you believe should they be re"balanced" ?

What if he reads your thread, thinks "oh hey great idea!" and then
does something that you don't approve of ?

Will you tell him to stop ??

Plz giff Malediction DPS of Ranis (but at rocket range), speed of claw and an extra mid. It should get these because its so pretty.

Actually a ship with like 200% damage bonus to rockets would be pretty cool (and thats about whats needed to make em do decent dps)

IMO interceptors need some survivability in scram range (smartbombs and drones are bad enough already and scram kills any advantage that interceptor has in close range) and longer targeting range (lock and point range of 30km @speeds of 5km/s is just lol).

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

+1 to more locking range.

What i would also like to see is something in the lines of a Web-Range bonus with reduced web-strength to emphasize on their tackling role.

I would like to see an extra medium slot and a role bonus that leans towards a duel drive setup on 1/2 of the interceptors. The long range interceptors I would like to see having better PG, CPU, and speed. Damage is just about right but, the close range webbing interceptors have no mid slots left while fitting for a close range tackle setup. Long range interceptors should get maybe an extra slot or gun, and more targeting range for sure.

Example:
Malediction
Remove the jamming bonus and replace with something else
New role bonus: Current 80% scram cap use bonus, 100% reduction in CPU and PG needed for small afterburners.

Crusader
New 25km base targeting range.
New role bonus: Current 80% scram cap use bonus, 20% bonus to warp scrambler and disruptor range.

Simply put, they should have flat out better targeting systems than their T1 counterparts. More range, higher scan resolution, and slightly higher sensor strength. Perhaps the fleet inties could also receive a bonus to scan res. say, 7.5% per level of the racial frigate skill.

Maybe have the Combat Intys immune to Warp Scramblers for more survivability, so it was as it was before that was introduced, means to tackle them they need to be webbed, it's the only logical and I'm sure pretty easy to implement, you can still tackle them, just needs to be webbed...

I never liked interceptors. Their entire role was 'go fast, be expensive, die when sneezed at'.

I am sure he will get to intys eventually, give him time (don't forget lol eafs either).

Intys need a slight survivability buff in terms of ehp and much improved electronics. They should be very hard to shake off when they get a tackle on somethings so very high sensor strength and maybe some sort of neut protection. They for sure have no business getting a dps buff.
