So, what do you all do when outside the pod?

I am genuinely curious. With the exception of a few, I doubt every capsuleer exclusively will be spending their immortal life inside a pod, blowing other ships away, and such.

So, what do you do when you are away from the ships, the stations, and the pod?

For myself, beyond drinking gallons of coffee from all over the cluster, i have a rather simple lifestyle. Home is on Intaki Prime, in the Akat mountain range (and no, I won't say where...)

My pasttime when not worrying about freight runs, paying my crews, keeping my ships flying, and drinking aforementioned coffee....is fishing.

If the world's temperate, and the local wild and plant life doesnt try to eat me or anything, then it's pretty likely i'll grab a pole, see what i can use for bait, and spend a few hours to a few days seeing what I can catch. When home on Intaki, that is likely why I am there, and what someone will find me doing.

Although, catching something is secondary, decompression, destressing, and contemplation is the idea.

So, what does IGS do outside the pod?

Over the last five years, my family has reinvented itself as a corporate entity, known as Hakatain Dynasty [H-DYN]. I'm the head of H-DYN's research division and I spend a fair bit of my time doing work for that, and negotiating the sale of our findings to larger corps. Our two biggest buyers are Zainou and Lai Dai.

For leisure, I do resistance training and I meditate regularly, for entertainment I attend Splinterz matches (I have VIP season passes to the State's five largest arenas), and as a hobby I make stuff. I've made everything from a wedding ring to a wall-sized bas-relief. Right now I'm making a pair of collar pins for a friend.

Sleep.

LOTS of sleep.

Being plugged in to a Cruiser for extended periods of time is somewhat draining.

I also eat like a madman, my station delivery order charges are atrocious, even for a Capsuleer. Sure, the pod gives the required nourishments while in-flight, but one still craves the taste of real food. Well, as real as station food can be. and then of course I need to work all that food off, and keep my personal combat skills up to par.

I've been trying to catch up with a few Holoshows and Holoreels, but a lot of the time I fall asleep in the middle of them.

so, in short. Eat, Work Out, watch Holos. sleep. I don't do much exciting as of yet.

Drinking and negotiation with local security personel about my behavior usually ending up in a sparring match where we decide where i sleep the next night.

After which regardless where i spend the night i read latest engineering journals on a pad. Personally i find journals from the republic most fascinating since they seem to have this endless talent for improvisation.

I run a Body modding business. Offering new and improved non neural augmentations to pilots and non capsuleers alike. As well the clinic offers basic medical services to the less fortunate near its offices on station and on planet near our various facilities.

I am a Holder. This means I have a territory (albeit not a large one) to oversee, people to keep well, competing interests to balance... this consumes a fair portion of my time - at least one full day a week, plus portions of time on other days.

I have also found someone with whom I enjoy spending a great deal of time.

Finally, I get out and socialize some in order to ensure that I don't become some kind of out-of-touch recluse like so many of the... 'touched' capsuleers become.

I surf.

When I was younger, I did competitive big wave events, but now I just do it for fun.

I grew up in a habitat that didn't have artificial gravity (outside of the half-gee area children live in), so I've got to work out pretty religiously or I'll be sore from just living in a gravity field - usually an hour or so a day of contrology and resistance training.

I've been studying wormholes and their interrelation with Sleepers and Sanshas, which takes quite a bit of time. I also like to cook - there are a lot of cool things you can do with food if you cook it in gravity! - and I like just moving around and seeing the cluster. It's been a long time since I left the Federation, and I never really saw a lot of it before I left, so there's a lot of catching up to do.

I used to be a uniformed peace officer and I still maintain contacts in that community. I consult on such matters for other capsuleers or baseliner institutions. I'm a Kalaakiota citizen-shareholder and corporate duties take up a small amount of time on a semi-regular basis.

I have a wife, obviously spending time with her is a priority. I work out and train regularly in various disciplines. I take time to visit my friends and to host them in return. I have my duties as an Operative in Pyre Falcon Defence Combine - these take up a large percentage of any given day.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

When there is time I help tend a friends small olive grove.

I have collected a variety of species, of the aforementioned genus in anticipation of one day having my own grove.

Sounds like you're doing this "capsuleer" thing right, Miss Vitalia.

As for my contribution to the topic at hand, my private affairs when I am not in a capsule are just that - private.

I mostly just sit in my quarters eating food rations and drinking water, hours upon hours of nothing but nutrients injected into your bloodstream makes you a bit hungry even after switching clones. Occasionally I go explore the galaxy, take care of my emissary and study on cultures among other things.

And when I want to have fun I take a dropsuit and go deepsea exploring with it.

During week-day evenings after spending the day vaporizing Pirate faction ships, i like to kick back on the sofa in my quarters while enjoying Caldari take-out and a good Holoreel, but during the weekend i venture into the Federation, and visit the bars and party's that Luminaire's night life has to offer.

I enjoy lounging around in the outdoors, away from technology. Or even though I have never been there in person, even staying at the hut that the Standing Place channel was connected to was very relaxing. Before the channel was converted to a simple chat channel.

If I can't do that, I light incense and read in my cabin at the station.

~"That's right. Today, tomorrow, the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that... from here on until forever, every time you look at my avatar - you'll see this scowl."~

~"Forever?"~

For the vast majority of the time I am busy running the small Island I hold as a Holder, various issues occasionally crop up which need dealing with. Otherwise I attend theaters and the occasional wine bar.

I also try to spend a small portion of my time wandering the halls of my vessels getting to know members of the crew and the officers responsible for managing them while I'm shut up in the pod.Lately however I've been spending the weekends in a lovely bar in Yulai viewing the now completed tournament

What I do outside my capsule? Um, to be honest, I haven't really left my capsule in the four days since I rid myself of my mortality.

Four days... You know what? I'm flying to my parent's home immediately after posting this. I've experienced so much in this little time, but a nice, peaceful moment with family may be just what I need to calm my frayed nerves.

We gazed up to the stars and decided that they should belong to us, so we rose up and claimed them. We gazed upon immortality and decided that it should belong to us...so we reached out...and _**took **_it.

Out of pod, well there is lots of planning to do when living in anoikis, though to relax I tend to go running. I feel it has a sort of meditative effect when I push it hard enough. Normally all through our tower but where we are now there are planets to explore as well.

Aside from that, partying till the days blur together, and loving like every day could be my last.

I like growing my own fruit and vegetables, and fishing of course. I tend to get out of pod quite often and spend time with my wife. Currently also busy child psychology and pediatrics considering a potential future adoption.

So enough to keep me busy while not hauling cargo around and responding to distress calls.

Fear not this night. You will not go astray. Though shadows fall still the stars find their way.
