No enemy need not try to cripple the USA we are allowing those in office to destroy the country from the inside.

That's pretty bad. It's like a municipal code in Santa Monica, CA that makes it illegal to smoke cigarettes - in your own home.

However, what really bothers me is that our media, the news outlets and those who falsely claim to be journalists are allowing themselves to be the mouth-piece of the U.S. government. They blindly repeat the government line about Snowden being guilty of treason, and that he is guilty of being a traitor - but he hasn't been tried in court, yet. All this, while conveniently forgetting what started the hoopla in the first place. The fact that the NSA has bee spying on U.S. citizens illegally. ATT, Verizon, and other communications companies have been deputized to help the NSA spy on U.S. citizens, and THAT IS NOT BEING covered in the media.

After the fact, while the illegal activity was in progress, Congress has been trying very hard to pass a law that would make NSA's activities legal. CISPA is the acronym of that new law. But on several occasions U.S. citizens told congress NO to that law and the other variations of that law, but Congress would just repackage it and try to pass it again. Why isn't that abusive behaviro in Congress being covered in the news?

That is the real story, not that Snowden, the whistle blower that revealed all of that to us, is on the run. Why is the media simply repeating what the government says, like parrots, instead of putting the government's feet to the fire and inquiring about the abuses to U.S. citizens at the hands of our government and elected officials?

I don't get it, it's his land. And does all the rain suddenly go to his reservoirs and does not fall on the rest or oregon??.
Seems like they just invoked some stupid old law, similar to the one about it being illegal to hunt whales in Ohio..

I don't like that they gave him the permits, and then revoked them. Maybe he can call them "landscaping" and "decorative ponds" and it'll be O.K..... Laws are stupidly written like that. Big corporations and filthy rich people are always taking advantage of loopholes in many laws, so why not give that approach a try? (answer: Because he's not filthy rich, or a big corporation with the required pull to circumvent authority).

The law has been in effect for 88 years.

It is actually well known there in Oregon.

When he set up the reservoirs he knew it was illegal.

This is nothing new, and has absolutely nothing to do with the "current administration" or whatever this particular point of hatred towards the USA is aimed at.

All countries and societies have stupid laws, corruption, oppression to some level. While in most cases this causes public outrage about ethics and demand for better conduct, what seperates the USA is that these corporate abuses and oppressions are actually celebrated and lauded as great archivements, and the psycopaths who pull them off become some sort of folk heroes, and rather than wanting less of it people actually want more and more of it.

hatred? Who's hating the USA?

It's an opinion that the USA is on a bad path, my understanding is it was in Utah not Oregon.

Allowing them selves? They're being paid off, special favors, special access, favorable regulation.

I believe Krixtal was referring to the link posted by Stoicfaux. The OP was indeed referring to a Utah case.

I don't think these local laws are the big problem. The bigger problem is the militarization of the police. For example, why would the Department of Education need a SWAT team?

Also, inb4 teh lock.

Sadly this is true.

I myself am a gun owner and I support more strict rules for owning them....to many crazies in America with them.
