High sec mining question

I was thinking about getting into mining while I worked. To make it worth my time, I was thinking about starting really big (10-12 accounts). I was wondering how much ISK per hour I could expect if I mined in high sec? And, what would be the best set up for those accounts? We'll go with 12 for this.

I know this is a vague question, and probably get answered all the time, but I did a search and couldn't find a thread close enough to it.

Thanks.

Are you allowed at work to stop what you're doing every 3 minutes to select a new rock to mine, and do it for every account, and also running back to station every 15 minutes or so?

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

There are lots of threads on multi-account/multi-box mining but for your specific scenario all you need to know is this: running a 10-12 ship mining operation solo is going to be a full time job in high sec; there will be no other time for IRL work.

Fortunately, yes.

So, if you were to suggest, where should I do it, and what would be the isk per hour for each account?

Thanks for the fast replies.

So you are saying you want to lazy-play AFK, and contribute to the overmining issue, further killing the collapsing minerals market at the same time.

No support from me on this one.

Both yes and no. I manufacture currently, and filling the amount of buy orders I need each day is becoming difficult. I figure if I start doing it myself, it would help drastically.

Minerals are dirt cheap atm. And sinking. http://ore.cerlestes.de/index.html#site:ore Charts at the bottom of page show all.

With 12 accounts the setup is 10 Hulks, an Orca providing boosts, and a freighter to haul. The Hulk pilots dump their ore into the Orca each cycle and the freighter pilot takes it out. You have to do this every 2 minutes (its faster due to the Orca boosts).

Presently scordite and pyrox are the best ores and you can expect to make 200 mil an hour (after real world effects are taken into account). Note that this means you need to mine for 33 hours a month just to PLEX those accounts.

Math: A boosted Hulk mines about 5200 cu m a cycle (depends on if you tank or not). Boosts make the cycle 122 seconds long. The best high sec ore is 178 ISK/cu m.

178 x 5200 x 3600 / 122 = 27.3 million per Hulk. Real world effects: time spent logging in, setting up the fleet, finding a mining spot, roids popping giving a partial cycle of ore, docking everyone, trading the ore to the main, going to market to buy crystals and selling minerals: call it 20 million per hour per Hulk.

Thank you so much for this, it was exactly what I was wondering. I might look into WH or low mining, then.

DScan every 30 sec or so, switch asteroids every time they deplete, watch local (in low), avoid those who would blow your fleet up, etc. When do you expect to get your actual RL work done?

I can manage one miner while writing, but at a noticable reduction in both mining and writing productivity, and that's in highsec.

As mentioned controlling 10 miners on rocks in hisec will get old fast you will seriously not actually be able to work. However ice mining would be way easier in hisec. If you want ore though go to null get in a grav site and put all your guys on the giant spod rock and don't worry about it except to unload. If you are using hulks though you will need to unload every cycle which again will get old fast.

However if I was dead set on doing ore in hi I would find a stationless system put up a POS with two LSAA's, keep the Orca in the POS and can all the ore. Send the freighter in every 20 or so minutes. That's just me though.
