This is not an “I’m quiting EvE post” but finding it harder to log in every day so here are my beefs.

--1.There is a lack if things to do in a short play period. Short being 1-2 hours a night.
------ a. Incursions take a long time to travel to and then join a forming fleet and it is almost time to log of.
------ b. PvP roams are great but often include many jumps and if you start you play period right when it’s forming up great….if not you often have ½ -1h of pay time left and simply log because the op will take longer
------- c. Missions, sanctums are mindless isk done to reach a goal or pay for pvp…they are boring and the though of that being the highlight of logging on makes me want to stab my eyes out
-------d. Mining is ….well mining
------- e. WH also take a decent amount of form up time past class 4.
So I’m left with solo PvP and while fun is feast or famine in terms of availability and is done more to kill time than anything else.

--2. No new content that really affects what I can do in the game.
--3. Sov warfare is boring! Yay we fleet up they run away or we stand down. Been blueballed in fleets so often I’m glad I’ve already had kids. If we do fight it’s a pos bash or a lag fest.

So what is a player who plays between 8:00 to 10:00 local time mon-fri to do? What is to excite me about EvE any longer and want to work towards something? What is fun and exciting to log on and participate in EvE that is available on a consistent basis?
EvE is simply not as accessible as it needs to be. I think 90% of EvE players currently play WoT on the side for this very reason. Posts show EvE is not growing, and EvE will not grow unless it provides fun meaning full content that is accessible to players who don’t schedule there life around a game.

So for these reasons I go sit by at the PC turn on EvE only to really lack any desire to play so log and go do something else.
EvE really needs more.

I know that feel ,
Work in the morning and evening , study at night .
Only 2 hours for EVE here too and I have a problem of being a new player(2 months of gameplay).
There is a lot of content to explore for me , but the corps to make em viable, give me a nay, since SP requirement, Ship requirement or paranoia feelings of me being a alt spy account...
So no null sec or low sec for me.

Most of my fun comes from the group pvp in RVB, but sometimes I wish that I could go to a more serious EVE with conquering , battles, podding and politics. Not just the gentlemen agreement ( Though its a fun place to be RvB)

gotta agree. pretty much everything in eve takes a relatively serious amount of time to get through. i love fleet ops and incursions and the like, but rarely take part do to time constraints. mind, i don't have any suggestions to ameliorate the problem. :(

My feelings exactly.

.......and yesterday after the THIRD patch fix and I undocked in my Tengu after turning modules on and then they were BACK OFF when I entered space................

...........I just simply unsubscribed all 3 accounts. This one active till 12:00 AM Sunday and the other two shut down 9/25.

After 19 months of SkillPoints even, I've just had it with it ALL.

I've been logging in only to change skills since December 2010, though I did have a brief period of activity for like 2-3 weeks last month.

But I stopped paying with RL money back in I June, so meh. Just kinda blowing my reserve isk on plexes until I feel like actually doing something again.

Dear OP.

Get a bomber or some other cloaky you like to fly. Fill it with ammo and then go and find a busy system in 0.0.

You can stay there for days on end catching and killing stuff whenever you want without the need to travel very far or spend lots of time online. Worked wonders for meBig smile

All excellent points and one reason eve doesn't grow as fast as it could have. You have to have stuff for the casual gamer.

I think EVE got lucky with timing.

When i started playing, I had hours of idle time to burn.

Now it's still hours, but in chunks.

I can only go one way on most roams. As I can't dock in most stations in 0.0 I just slip the waste of a vagabond to a as I'm afk

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

My free time is totally random, this makes it hard to play eve, as it takes a minimum of 2hour to get into something. Lately i just go ratting around lowsec, cause i can go afk whenever i need to.

Not strange to feel bored - it will pass Smile

yikes I agree with a forum poster who is complaining and NOT quitting.

The only benefit I see to "instanced" content is the quickness of it.

I'd personally love some kind of arenas in eve, I think it would get more people into pvp. We can with a thought launch missiles, but we can't make a virtual reality simulator? It can cost 10 m a run and there could be no loots, etc ,but please give us something "quick" to get us hot and wet to do something time consuming.

It's not just that there is no available content for short play periods..but that most of it is very mindless or does not help achieve longer term goals.

Missions take less than an hour but they are very very boring after the 100th time you run them.
PvP ops tend to be far anging and longer to achieve sov goals.

Solutions

Wormholes where a great start, lets get some synamic missions with really hard fights. Fights where you need 3-4 pilots in good ships. These small fleets form up fast and would give access to some intreting content.....rather than the current level 4 isk printing that is easy once you have the skill points and the ship.

Make level 5 missions worth the time..enourage peopoe to mission in low sec, group up for saftey but still rewarded for the higher risk.

Iterate on your sov changes and get some small scale pvp that is not 30 jumps away. This is done by giving objectives that a small gang can achieve to hurt another alliance in real way that does not invovle siting shooting a structer for an hour. Would also help If super capitals where not droping on and DD rifters...Seen a kill mail with 7DD on a cruiser hull.

Give us something to do, not somethign to wear.
Fire all the incarna people and give decent missions witht he sleeper AI and watcht he subs go up.

Last night I logged on late after a busy day, needing to get to sleep, and so I thought I was going to just move a ship a few jumps.

For S&Gs I got into my exploration ship and threw some probes out, and discovered a DED 4 of 10 site.

Best part was that most of the NPCs despawned while I was fighting the boss because someone else originally found the site and got popped in there.

In a very short time I was leaving with two faction modules and two deadspace modules along with a box of overseer goodies.

Yes it's hard being a lone wolf player - which is pretty much how you end up in this game if you don't have a lot of time to play. For me it's hard to imagine that some people even have time to be "Alliance pets/slaves" or run alliances and PVP corporations. If I get an hour to play, that's a lot, but even with all day to play, which does happen a few times a year, after around 3 hours I have to get outside. I don't know who these people are who can sit in a dark basement all day and play MMOs.

CCP hates the lone wolf, but whenever they try to bring the pain, all they end up doing is put more challenge into the same cost of a subscription. My first encounter with sleepers, for example, was alone and I had no worries about getting corp-ganked or who got what loot or whether enough ISK was going to be earned to pay rent. Just me, some sleepers and a lot of sweat inventing new tactics that worked well.

The only way CCP is going to stop me is if they come up with an "explode on undock if not in fleet" mechanic. They came close to that with Incursions, but even then I can solo up to a Raa Thalamus in a Caracal.

Keep hating the lone wolves and explorers, CCP, you make game better that way.

This is similar to my situation save that instead of studying I have two young children and a wife to spend time with.

I had actually left RVB for a while thinking i'd venture off into the wider world of EVE particularly null sec, But I soon found that it was just too much damned time intensive to even figure out which corp/alliance to join much less generate isk and join one.

So when Del messaged me about what was going on and suggested I return I dropped my roles and flew my ass back over to theater.

RVB is a good answer to people like to OP and myself Just figure out an income source (like buying a GTC periodically and converting it into Plex to sell for isk Twisted ) pick up a bunch of modules and join one up, It's generally a good way to have a little fun if you've only got an hour or two to commit.

Sure it's kind of mindless and somewhat pointless compared to some other activities you could engage in but it's good for a little bit of fun while you wait for your life to sort itself out in a way that you have more time.

Re-evaluate your opinion of incursions. To make 20 jumps WTZ shouldnt take you more than 20mins. Tip, Leave yourself or at least your slow ass ship in the incursion system for when you next log in. Make the next trip in a shuttle or something fast.

The more time you spend getting into fleets getting to know people and developing your fit, the faster those fleet invites will come. I think they are the perfect option for time constrained players.
