Best Ship for Angel Missions

I was thing Golem or Tengu, because I have the skills to fly both and the primary weapons for both T2'ed. Is the Tengu all about transversal for tanking? And do you all think the Golem's torps could even hit in a mission? (I'll be using 3x bonused faction TP). Last, the Vargur. Worth training into/getting gun skills for?

If you have a completely different ship you would like to recommend stick it down as well.

golem is a nice ship for all pirate factions. i recomment you to use cruise missiles, they have more range and do more damage on smaller ships. You can use torps too, but you will need to fit a MWD, to get in torpedo range.

another good ship is the machariel,

+ very high dps
+ fast
+ instapops the frigs

You can always use cruise missiles.
Precision cruise missiles can 1 shot almost everything with 2xTP (sheet and game tested). Fury cruise take 3 maybe 4 volleys to kill a BS.
I did my math considering torpedo as well. Its not as good as cruise. Takes longer to kill less than BS size ships.
A golem will do it faster than a tengu, but a tengu can go around faster and doesn't need as big as a tank because of speed tanking (but watch out from webs).
I did fly a tengu along side the CNR and golem. Currently I prefer the golem after the cruise missiles buff.

Another option is of course the machariel. Speed and autocannons work really well on some angel missions.

It is really a preference of weapon usage.
I have a toon with golem and cruise missiles and one with BS pirate ships. Overall it depends on the mission, but the golem feels solid to do them all, and does it very well.

Yah a lot of people talk about the mach. I would love to be able to slavage during the mission, so that's why I was thing Vargur if I wanted to do projectiles. But if it's that good...

Sadly I don't have T2 yet, would faction missiles work?

Yes, but not as good, but they work very well.
FMs on golem with 2xTP will do about 15-30% less damage than T2, really depends on the NPC you are shooting at of course. But it can still pop a frigate easy.
With 3xTP they will do the same damage 2xTP and T2 precision but to BSs as fury.
3xTP and T2 of course still better.

Vargur and Torp Golem are both nice options if you want to loot/salvage as you go (at least as of right now... Marauder changes will be coming but we've not been given a clue yet what's going to happen), as their weapon range is close to the 48k tractor range.

As has been mentioned, cruise missile ships will generally clear missions faster due to better projection if you don't care about loot/salvage. Machariel is an incremental upgrade to the Vargur (again, if you eschew the loot/salvage or bring a Noctis in behind).

Can be used to good effect for blitzing some missions where you just need to get in and kill one ship, but for clearing missions you won't match the DPS and projection of a battleship.

Out of the 2 ships you listed, Golem is decent and Tengu is garbage (aginst angels). I always heard it was a good mission runner, all 5's later I found out its not, especially for angels. Tengu is decent for blitzing, but if you don't have at least 2 characters to accept the missions its not more isk per hour than just running the missions.

Machariel is hands down the best ship vs angels.

That being said, no one gives angels only missions. I use a Mach for Angels and a RS for mordus, serpentis, and mercs. Sometimes Sanshas for the one Sansha mission worth accepting in Minmatar space, WC. Ironically WC is one of the good missions to rush in a Tengu.

If you are missioning for a minmatar agent, I would rock the Golem Vs. everything but angels, the tengu for blitzing, and train into a mach for angels. You could use the Maelstrom for practice vs angels, but the Golem would be just as fast if not faster.

If you are on a budget Domi is a good mission boat for all lvl 4 missions
Except recon 1 and 2 use a shuttle for that

no. missioning in curse gives you missions to kill DED or other pirate factions, empires, etc.

missioning in curse will also probably get you killed by the locals.

Vargur is best of your choices. Cruise Golem is better than Torp Golem except for maybe Damsel. Tengu is dead last, except for being able to blitz things like Damsel or Blockade.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.
