Skill Training Q&A

Just wondering: is there a way to get the skills to fly something, (lets say, a stealth bomber.) But for it not to take so long? (for me, to fly a nemesis, the training would take approx. 23 days.) Is there a way to speed this process up?

Neural remaps.

Click your portrait in the top of the neocom and go to attributes.

Find out which skills you will train, use which attributes (by clicking the "i" on the skill), it will tell you the primary attribute and the secondary attribute.

Personally I would find out what skill will take the longest time to train (for example Frigate V (disclaimer: that might not be the longest skill to train)) and remap to suit it.

Please note: You have LIMITED neural remaps so use them wisely.

The other alternative is to buy some attribute enhancer implants from the market and plug them in. (These can get rather costly).

Or do both. Big smile

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

use EveMon to figure out the neural remaps needed.

What I need most.. is a day between Saturday and Sunday...

You can make it faster, via changing attributes or adding implants, but that is about it. Outside of buying a character who has it already trained with isk (which may not be a good idea if you don't know how to fly the ship anyhow.)

Like other posters have mentioned, better attributes increase your training speed, and implants increase your attributes.

Use EVEMon to plan out your skills.

As a final point, 23 days to get into a stealth bomber, using your example, isn't that long. But to get the other support skills including core skills and torpedoes etc may take even longer.

Other more specialised ships could potentially take even longer! But anyway, have patience young padawan and good luck!

Just to add...
The neural remaps and implants aren't going to change that 23 day training to 2 days, more likely to 19 or so.

Also bear in mind, being able to sit in the ship (assemble it and make active), doesn't mean you can fly the ship effectively

This is an important point. You might get into a bomber after 23 days but you probably want to skill up to IV. Then you will want to put Torps, a bomb launcher and a covert cloak on it, all of which have their own training requirements.

All T2 frigates are fun and definitely worth training, If you have not already done so, consider going for an interceptor or AF first. You might find the complementary skills more useful.

If you like large explosions there is no substitute to a bomber

And even more, getting the skills in the game to be able to fly a certain funky ship (and yes, SBs are awesome fun) doesn't give you the RL, behind the keyboard, skills to use it without losing it in a very embarrassing way (leading to rage quit and hilarious posts on the forums).

The time needed to get the skills in game allows you to try, fail and hopefully learn in much cheaper ships ;)

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.
