Why does the patcher/launcher not check for updates on login, instead of only at first run?

I tend to leave my launcher open, swapping between accounts, which is what I assume is the intended use. Lately though, with daily patches I login after downtime to find that my client is incompatible. Would login not be a great time to do a quick check and make sure I have the correct client version?

What happens on days when there is a patch is that I inevitably have to login, quit my client, close the launcher, reopen the launcher, it updates, login again.

Would it not make more sense if Loging in prompted a client version check and then launched the client for you?

Is it that hard to invoke the client check function immediately prior to client launch?

Why am I so bad and even bother with trying to use it?

EVE's code base is a crumbling, outdated, multi-shitlayered, pythogonal, Dusty mess barely maintained by a couple of can't-give-a-fuckk programmers over-lorded by a bunch of sociopaths, some YouTube sensations, and a midget who don't even remember what the game is anymore, that's why.

Solution is go back to the old log-in screen with the nice animations. It worked, so what's the big problem with going back?

Woah woah woah. You want the launcher to do something?

I don't think that was the goal.

Arn't you enjoying the rotating ads?

Edit.

lol what is next? Will someone ask for individual settings?

I'm pretty sure telling people their thread is trolling / negative posts is in itself trolling.

Do you really need a genius to tell you to close the launcher after downtime if its such a big deal? I'm not a genius but I could arrange for one...

Here just for you.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Does anyone else in the world get as creeped out by midgets as I do ?

Those fat little fingers make them look like goblins and the way they walk gives me a sea sick like feeling in my bladder and prostate.....
I've done some really stupid shit in this game.

I launch more than one account every time I start playing. The launcher makes this hard for me. So I thank CCP for giving us the EVE Clonemaker tool.

I always quit the game entirely at DT, you never know when a stealth patch will come out. Then I launch the Launcher so it can grab any pending updates, quit the Launcher, then start my plurality of cloned clients.

I would really like the ability to select a bunch of characters to log in, and have the Launcher open up the necessary clients.

if your supposed to start the launcher every time you play, why not have the launcher close itself after every launch?

I like how when swapping over to my other account it spontaneously decided that it needed to verify files despite still being logged in on my primary account.

That's some good software 'coding lou.

I really hate the new launcher. The old way (middle click on the Eve icon in the taskbar) for launching Eve is still the best and fastest way to launch multiple accounts.

Just cause it sucks for you doesn't mean it sucks for everyone.

They are aware of the hassle it has on multi boxers have had that as an end goal consideration since it was put into initial testing on SiSi around the time of Crucible

Edit: I do, however, support the OP's suggestion.

CCP Rise isn't just a youtube sensation. I saw him stutter on previous Alliance Tournies too.

You know that this is possible right? Just check the launcher settings.
